Spread bet on horse racing with Spreadex and you will discover there is much more to having a flutter than merely backing the winner. We offer spread betting on how a horse will fare in a race (Race Index), how it will fare versus just one other horse (Match Bets), what the total aggregate winning distance of a race meeting will be (Winning Distances) and much more.
Our Race Index markets give spreads based on a points system where we award 50 points to the winner, 25 to the runner-up and 10 to the third-placed finisher (11 runners or less) or 50 to the winner, 30 to runner-up, 20 to third-placed finisher and 10 to the fourth horse (12 runners or more).
You can then take a view for or against a horse depending on how well, or badly, you think it will run. We may quote a favourite in a 12 runner race at Ascot at 35-38. If you think he will not like the going you could sell him at 35, for example. If he wins the race, he scores 50 points and you lose 15 times your stake. If he comes second he scores 30 points and you win 5 times your stake, if he is outside the first four he scores 0 points and you win 35 times your stake.
With our Match Bets you can bet on the distance one named horse will beat or lose to another named horse by in a race. So if you just fancy one horse to do well against another but have no real view on who will win the race, spread bet with a Match Bet.
You can 'buy' if you think the outcome will be higher than our price or 'sell' if you feel it will be lower. New accounts can earn two complimentary £10 National Hunt or flat match spread bets (terms and conditions apply).
