Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew has three recommended bets/trades on Wednesday, August 7th.
The form of FORMIDABLE FORCE’s handicap debut win from Labalaba on the turf course at Lingfield on June 8th has been let down by the runner-up/third and James Ferguson’s three-year-old can be opposed in this 6f handicap. Since the beginning of 2021, handicap debut winners (Flat only) in Britain/Ireland who were bidding to follow up in another Flat handicap are 247 from 1300 (19%) for a loss of £419.05 to a £1 level stake at SP (-32.23% on turnover) against an expected winners score of 291.61 (A/W= 0.85). The gelded son of Sea The Stars is clearly not straightforward, having twice been withdrawn after playing up in the stalls and can be sold in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
Recommendation: Oppose FORMIDABLE FORCE in Pontefract 4.40
CLEVER CURRENCY, who finished second by a neck in a similar course and distance contest on last month’s debut for Michael Bell, can be forgiven his subsequent Lingfield flop as he was taken to the ‘swamp’ on the inside rail by James Doyle where the Polytrack surface was clearly slower. The return to this venue will suit and Callum Shepherd is back on board. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back CLEVER CURRENCY in Yarmouth 7.10
Alan King’s SMART CHARGER didn’t look the easiest of conveyances when going down by a nose in a 2m handicap on Lingfield’s Polytrack last month, but the first-time visor could help him to return to winning ways tonight. His trainer has a solid record when using this headgear on the Flat (all-weather or turf), scoring with seven of the 35 qualifiers for a profit of £49.50 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 2.57, A/E = 2.73). Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back SMART CHARGER in Kempton 8.55
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
