Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew bids to get the new week off to a flyer with two recommended bets/trades at Newton Abbot and Brighton on Monday, September 9th.
Four of INVESTMENT MANAGER’s five wins have come here at Newton Abbot and his course record on officially good to soft or softer going reads 12221 (2-5). Joe Tizzard’s eight-year-old reverts to hurdles for the first time since January 2022 but, unlike his two rivals, he’ll relish the soft conditions and rates the best buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
Recommendation: Back INVESTMENT MANAGER in Newton Abbot 2.05
FIGHTING POET is forecast to start as the 3-1 favourite for this 1m4f handicap on the strength of his course and distance win on August 20th. However, that was the six-year-old’s first win at the 20th attempt, and he looked flattered by the track bias on the day – the headwind made life tough for front-runners and the majority of the winners arrives late/wide after getting plenty of cover early. Throw in today’s much softer and he looks value to sell at 16 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market. Fixed odds punters might want to consider FEN TIGER, who has a solid record in Class 6 handicaps after a recent outing.
Recommendation: Oppose FIGHTING POET in Brighton 4.40
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
