Andrew heads to Lingfield and an excellent evening card at Hamilton for his two recommended bets/trades on Tuesday, August 13th.

LINGFIELD 2.15

This 7f apprentice handicap should be run at a sound pace, with the blinkered first-time RINNOVATI (5-2 favourite at the time of writing) most likely to take them along. Archie Watson’s filly was pestered for the lead when a beaten favourite at Leicester last time, taking her career score to one win from ten starts (0-4 on the all-weather) and I expect that one or two of today’s rivals will again prove to be stronger in the closing stages. FORGOTTEN TREASURE and OUTREACH could also attempt to put pace to the race and the obvious hold-up performer to side with is SPLIT ELEVENS, who has landed his last two starts over a turning 7f. Buy at 19 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price (3-1).

HAMILTON 7.00

PADDY THE SQUIRE returns from his third bout of wind surgery on only his seventh career start but he ran big races immediately after his first two wind ops – finishing an 80-1 second on soft ground in a Chester maiden and landing a 1m2f handicap at Ayr, again on soft ground. He’s likely to be fit and raring to go despite the 12-month absence and, with the ground on the easy side at Hamilton, rates a buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Back PADDY THE SQUIRE in Hamilton 7.00
