Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew heads to Ripon and Bellewstown for his three recommended bets/trades on Tuesday, August 27th.
RESERVADO was turned over at odds of 8-15 on his debut at Windsor earlier this month but he ran green, clocked a fast time and impressed with his attitude after getting into a sustained duel with winner Lexington Blitz. Simon and Ed Crisford scored with the well-backed Soldier’s Heart here yesterday to take their course record to 12 winners from 37 runners, including six from 12 with juveniles for a profit of £16.38 to a £1 level stake at SP. He faces a tough rival in likely front-runner ZAYER but that one has already had two runs and Reservado can progress past him. Buy at 33 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price (11-10).
Recommendation: Back RESERVADO in Ripon 2.55
IT JUST TAKES TIME has a solid record in high summer, landing six of his 19 starts in the June to August period for a profit of £42.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. Mark Walford’s six-year-old finished a respectable 18-1 seventh of 16 in a more competitive course and distance contest last time and looks a player this afternoon off a 2lb lower mark. Buy at 8 in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price (9-1).
Recommendation: Back IT JUST TAKES TIME in Ripon 4.00
BELLA COLOMBIA caught the eye when a 25-1 fourth at the Curragh on August 10th, doing best of those ridden patiently in a 1m handicap won by progressive three-year-old Quadruple. I backed her on the strength of that run when she lined up at Roscommon ten days later but the 9-1 shot switched to prominent tactics under Billy Lee when it paid to come from off the pace. The first three finishers were described by the Racing Post as ‘midfield’, ‘slowly into stride, in rear early’ and ‘slowly into stride, in rear’ and her fourth place was worthy of an uplift. Today’s slightly longer trip will suit, and she can be bought in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or backed each-way in the fixed odds betting (11-2 at the time of writing).
Recommendation: Back BELLA COLOMBIA in Bellewstown 5.45
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
