Daily Spread Betting Round-up

Weekend's Big Winning Bets 08.06.26

landing-page-weekend-080626

A huge weekend of sport encompassed everything from the Derby, Test match cricket, major domestic boxing shows, the final round of the Rugby Premiership, World Cup warm up matches, and the French Open finals.

Our online betting traders were kept on their toes throughout and we have picked out three spread bets where our canny punters came away with a pretty penny.

Please remember spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

BOLIVIA v SCOTLAND – 1ST HALF GOALS x CORNERS (SETTLED AT 16)

The Tartan Army are determined to enjoy their first World Cup since 1998, and the early indications are promising for Scotland after they demolished Bolivia 4-0 at the weekend. That success over the South Americans followed up a 4-1 win over World Cup debutants Curacao at Hampden Park and Steve Clarke’s side have cut loose in recent weeks.

They took just five minutes to open the scoring on Saturday as new Rangers man Lawrence Shankland scored his seventh goal on the international stage. Bolivia play their home matches 13,400 feet above sea level in El Alto. Saturday’s match with Scotland was just 37 feet above sea level, and shorn of their altitude advantage, they went on to concede another three first half goals, with Che Adams helping himself to a brace.

Before kick-off in New Jersey, the 1st Half Goals x Corners spread was available to trade at 5.4-6.4. With four goals and four corners helping the spread settle at 16, buyers made 9.6x their stake.

.

ENGLAND v NEW ZEALAND 1ST TEST – JOE ROOT PERFORMANCE (SETTLED AT 9)

The Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and Lord’s Cricket Ground are fairly unlikely bedfellows. Lord’s is a bastion of Britishness and is a must for any touring nation. The Raymond James meanwhile, has a 100-foot pirate ship built into the stands.

However, despite their differences, both played host to an England match against New Zealand which was severely impacted by the pitch. Setting the Three Lions woes aside for the moment, at least England’s cricket side earned some plaudits over the weekend for a gritty win over the Black Caps.

They managed to secure victory despite a quiet performance from their talisman Joe Root. The dependable Yorkshireman managed to score just nine runs across two innings on a pitch that was doing all sorts and drew plenty of criticism. With his part time spin not required and catching opportunities few and far between for the slip cordon, Root finished with a Performance of just nine.

Before play began in the capital, the Root Performance spread could be traded at 110-120, however, things couldn’t have got much better for sellers who walked off with a win of 101x their stake.

CORONATION CUP – CALANDAGAN 50-25-10 (SETTLED AT 0)

With the Oaks and the Derby taking place at the weekend and Royal Ascot on the horizon, it would be remiss of us not to include a big winning horse spread bet. Leaving the controversial Derby to one side, there was a big win for sellers who opposed Calandagan in the Coronation Cup earlier in the day.

The French-trained five-year-old was sent off as the 25-28 favourite at the off in our Race Index market. However, it was a very disappointing performance from Mikael Barzalona’s mount, who could finish no closer than a 41.5 length fourth place. That was brilliant news for sellers as a finish outside the top three saw the spread settle at zero, with sellers winning a maximum 25x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
