There was plenty of high-quality sporting action over the last few days, and we have scanned through the results to pull out three big winning bets where our spread betting punters came out on top.

Please remember spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS v SIWELELE – GOALS CUBED (SETTLED AT 1331)

Mamelodi Sundowns might be largely unknown to English football fans outside of the real anoraks of the game, but they are fast becoming a real force in African football. This weekend, they will once again play in the final of the CAF Champions League and on Saturday, they recorded a remarkable 7-4 home win over mid-table outfit Siwelele.

That result kept the Sundowns top of the league, with a three point buffer to Orlando Pirates, although the side from Soweto do have a game in hand. A crackers first half saw Mamelodi go into the break 5-1 up courtesy of goals from Teboho Mokoena, Brayan Leon, Tashreeq Matthews, and a Nyiko Mobbie own goal.

Siwelele did not give up though, and Zambian international Gamphani Lungu completed his hat-trick as the visitors ultimately lost 7-4. It was certainly a niche match as far as spread betting goes, but anyone who bought Goals Cubed at 42-49 landed a lovely touch. A total of 11 goals scored in the match saw the market settle at 1331 with buyers winning a whopping 1282x their stake.

CATALUNYA CHAMPIONSHIP – YUVALL PREMLALL PERFORMANCE (SETTLED AT 200)

Sticking with South African sport now, and it was a remarkable weekend for Yurav Premlall who won the Catalunya Championship by a whopping 14 shots. It was his maiden DP Tour win and his margin of victory was one shy of Tiger Woods’ record-breaking 15 shot win in the 2000 US Open.

The surprise victory propelled the South African up to 26th position in the Race To Dubai and it was a great weekend for anyone who backed the 26-year-old in our golf spread betting markets.

The Performance spread awards 200 points to the winner of an event, 100 points for finishing between 2nd and 10th, 50 points for a finish between 11th and 20th, 25 points for a finish between 21st and 30th, with a -25 penalty for missing the cut. Before play began in Terrassa, you could trade Premlall Performance at 9-13, with buyers holing out with a win of 187x their stake.

ST HELENS v WIGAN WARRIORS – CROSS-POINTS (SETTLED AT 0)

One of the most eagerly anticipated Challenge Cup semi-finals in years ended in a one-sided rout as Wigan blew rivals St Helens away to reach Wembley for the third time in five seasons.

Seeking revenge for the Good Friday clash which saw Saints record a remarkable comeback win, Wigan were red hot from the off as four tries in the first half put the Cherry and Whites firmly in control.

Matt Peet’s side turned their attention from attack to defence as they held strong against a concerted spell of Saints pressure in the first 20 minutes of the second half, before late tries from Zach Eckersley and Adam Keighran saw the score blow out to 32-0. It was a resounding win for a side who had been made narrow outsiders ahead of the game and it was a great win for sellers of Cross-Points at 264-293.

With Paul Rowley’s side going scoreless, the market settled at zero as sellers won 264x their stake.

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
