landing-page-weekend-200426

The weekend was loaded with sporting drama as Manchester City went favourites in the title race, the World Snooker Championship got underway, and Matt Fitzpatrick won the RBC Heritage Classic. As ever on a Monday, we have scanned through all the results and scores to find out three big winning bets where our punters got one over on the traders.

Please remember spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit. They may not be suitable for everyone so please ensure you fully understand the risks involved.

WORKSOP TOWN v PETERBOROUGH SPORTS – WOR/PET SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 8)

The title race in the National League is getting plenty of attention this year and there was another twist on Saturday. York beat Yeovil 3-0 at home and celebrations were sparked at the LNER Stadium when Braintree equalised against Rochdale in the 91st minute to seemingly seal the title for the Minstermen. However, for the second week in succession, Rochdale scored with pretty much the last kick of the game and the season rolls onto a final day showdown between the two sides at Spotland this weekend.

In the National League North, there was also drama as South Shields’ 1-1 draw with relegation-threatened Bedford means Fylde have one hand on the title. Also in that league, there was a remarkable match at Sandy Lane as Worksop secured their safety with an 8-0 demolition of Peterborough Sports. Perhaps even more remarkable was the fact that all eight goals came in the first 61 minutes and despite Sports going down to nine men, Worksop could not add another.

There was a big winning bet for football spread betting punters on our Supremacy market which was 0.75-0.95 in Worksop’s favour before kick-off in Nottinghamshire. An 8-0 win saw the spread settle at eight as buyers won 7.05x their stake. A huge win on one of our least volatile markets.

BEN WHITTAKER v BRAIAN SUAREZ – COMPLETED ROUNDS SQUARED (SETTLED AT 0)

Boxing fans in Liverpool were left disappointed when Callum Smith pulled out of Saturday’s main event, but Ben Whittaker still gave them something to cheer. Promoted to head a card which also featured former UFC star and Scouse favourite Molly McCann, Whittaker demolished Braian Suarez to further enhance his credentials in the stacked light-heavyweight division.

It is five years since Whittaker won a silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics and the Wolverhampton man will soon be looking to step up a level in the pro ranks having amassed a record of 11-0-1 following a second successive first round victory. Suarez was seen as a durable opponent, but The Surgeon clinically despatched him in 40 seconds. A US debut is now on the cards for Whittaker, before a title fight in the Midlands according to promoter Eddie Hearn.

HUDDERSFIELD GIANTS v LEEDS RHINOS – MATCH MULTI-POINTS (SETTLED AT 1520)

A dismal start to the Super League season for Huddersfield Giants saw Luke Robinson dismissed from his role as head coach, but back-to-back wins over Wigan and York had raised hopes in HD1 ahead of a West Yorkshire derby against Leeds on Friday.

Those hopes were raised further when local lad George King crossed for the opening try after just two minutes. However, that was as good as it got for Huddersfield as they were torn to shreds by a rampant Leeds Rhinos side who underlined their title credentials. Brad Arthur’s side ran in ten tries, with mercurial half Brodie Croft helping himself to four, as Rhinos triumphed 56-22 to put themselves joint top of the league with Wakefield and St Helens.

Such a high scoring game was always going to be good news for buyers on points-related spreads, but those buying on Match Multi-Points helped themselves to the biggest win. Multiplying the first half points total of 38 by the 40 scored in the second period saw the spread settle at 1520. Before kick-off at the Accu Stadium, the spread was 380-420 which meant buyers landed a big winning bet of 1100x their stake

Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
