Daily Spread Betting Round-up
There were plenty of big winning bets this weekend as Arsenal, Hearts, and Coventry all extended their leads at the top of their respective divisions. There was also plenty of important cricket and racing this weekend and we have ran through our online betting ledgers to find out where our savvy spread betting punters made hay.
There was plenty of late drama in this weekend’s Premier League, with our canny spread betting punters turning a profit on the Aggregate 90th Minute Goals spread. Before kick-off in the Friday night fixture, this spread was set at 2.3-2.65 and it got off to a flying start when Mateus Fernandes flicked home a late consolation for West Ham in defeat against Leeds.
Both 3pm kick-offs on Saturday yielded 90+ minute goals as Chemsdine Talbi secured all three points for Sunderland away at Stamford Bridge, whilst Bruno Guimaraes struck late to give Newcastle a valuable home win over Fulham.
Later on that day, Bryan Mbuemo scored in the sixth minute of injury time to secure Manchester United’s 4-2 win and buyers were unlucky that Mo Salah’s late goal against Bournemouth was scored in the 89th minute.
Pape Sarr also scored in the 89th minute for Spurs as they became the first side to win at Everton’s new ground, but buyers did get one more in the book when Lyle Foster landed a late sucker punch as Burnley beat Wolves.
With six goals scored in the 90th minute or later, buyers won 3.35x their stake.
Harry Brook is in store for a long winter Down Under, but England will need plenty of performances like they saw on Sunday if they are to have a serious crack at claiming The Ashes.
With his ODI side in dire straits, Brook’s knock of 135 from 101 deliveries at least forced New Zealand to chase something meaningful down – Jamie Overton with 46 was the only other player to get out of single figures for the tourists.
When Brook came into bat with England 5-3, his run spread was 45-50. The gifted Yorkshireman made light work of that and with his final tally of 135, buyers won 85x their stake.
Arsenal took advantage of Liverpool and Manchester City’s failings to open up a four point lead at the top when they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at The Emirates on Sunday. Former Palace man swapped south London for north when he crossed the Thames for £67m in the summer, and he scored the only goal of the game with an excellent volley.
The game as a whole was a fairly low-key affair – not that Arsenal will min as they attempt to win their first league title since ‘The Invincibles’ – with no cards handed out by referee Thomas Bramall.
A lack of cards was good news for sellers on our Cross-Bookings spread betting market at 360-430. This market multiplies Arsenal’s booking point total by Crystal Palace’s. However, with neither side receiving a card, the market settled at 0 as sellers won 360x their stake.
