The Rugby World Cup will return for its 11th edition in October 2027, as the world’s best teams head to Australia to compete for the Webb Ellis Cup. There will be six groups of four teams, followed by a knockout stage culminating with the World Cup final in Sydney on Saturday, 13 November 2027.

South Africa will be aiming to win an unprecedented third consecutive World Cup crown, after dominant displays in 2019 and 2023. The Springboks are the most successful team in Rugby World Cup history, with four tournament wins, closely followed by New Zealand on three. Australia have lifted the Webb Ellis Cup twice, and England once. All other nations will be aiming to win the World Cup for the first time.

Who are the favourites for the 2027 Rugby World Cup?

Reigning champions South Africa are the favourites in the Spreadex outright tournament market. You can back them to win their third straight Webb Ellis Cup at 7/4. France have the second shortest odds, at 2/1 to win a maiden World Cup crown, having been runners up three times before.
