Defending champions and joint hosts India are the current favourites to lift the coveted T20 World Cup trophy. They boast a formidable squad, featuring the world’s top-ranked T20 batsman Abhishek Sharma and leading T20 bowler Varun Chakravarthy. The hosts can also rely on proven match-winners such as Jasprit Bumrah, who has played a key role in guiding India to multiple titles. India are priced at 5/4 to successfully defend their crown.
Second favourites are Australia, priced at 7/2 to claim their second-ever T20 World Cup title. The Aussies arrive on the back of a dominant Ashes campaign and will be aiming to carry that momentum into the shortest format of the game.
South Africa sit third in the betting at 11/2, hoping to go one step further than in 2024 when they finished runners-up to India. The Proteas have been strong across all formats in recent years, with depth in both batting and bowling, although they face a challenging group that includes New Zealand, Afghanistan and Canada.
England are fourth favourites at 6/1 and will be aiming to become the first nation to win the tournament three times, alongside rivals India and West Indies. They possess one of the strongest batting line-ups in the competition, with power and depth throughout the order, but questions remain over the consistency of their bowling attack. Backed by the Barmy Army in India, England will be hoping to turn around their recent poor form.
Other notable contenders include New Zealand at 11/1, Pakistan at 18/1 and West Indies at 20/1. Home nations Ireland and Scotland are also involved, priced at 400/1 and 1500/1 respectively to lift the trophy. Full T20 World Cup betting odds can be found HERE.
T20 (Twenty20) cricket is the shortest and most fast-paced mainstream format of the game, where each team bats for a maximum of 20 overs (6 balls per over) and a full match usually lasts about three hours; it emphasizes aggressive batting, frequent boundaries, and quick results, with bowlers limited to a maximum of four overs each and fielding restrictions like powerplays that encourage attacking play early on, making it very different from longer formats such as Test cricket (played over five days) and ODIs (50 overs per side).
The 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be the tenth edition of the tournament and will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The competition will get underway on the 7th February and will conclude on the 8th March with the final either being played in Ahmedabad or Colombo.
The 20 qualifying teams were divided into four groups of five each. In the group stage, each team will play four matches against one another in a round-robin; the top two teams in each group will advance to the Super 8 stage, where they will be placed into two groups of four teams each, and will play three matches against one another. The top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout stage. Two semi-finals and then a final will be played to determine the winner of the tournament. Overall in the tournament there will be 55 matches of T20 cricket played. See all fixtures below.
