Tallest Ever Premier League Players

Ipswich Town. Yet to make an official Premier League appearance with the 2026/27 season still to start, but set to become the league's tallest-ever player once it does. Began his career at hometown club FC Emmen before joining Ajax in 2019, with later spells at Brighton, Vitesse and Sturm Graz.

Ipswich paid an initial £8.5m to sign him from Union Saint-Gilloise in July 2026, fresh from winning the Belgian Cup and finishing second in the league.

Manchester City, Sunderland, Watford. Previously held the record as the tallest player in Premier League history.

A Romanian international with 27 caps, he won the FA Cup with City in 2011 and was part of their 2013/14 title-winning squad as backup to Joe Hart, before more regular football at Sunderland and Watford.

Birmingham City. Part of their 2011 League Cup-winning side, scoring the opening goal in the final upset of Arsenal at Wembley.

A Serbian international with over 50 caps, he joined Birmingham from Valencia in 2010 and represented Serbia at the 2010 World Cup, going on to score 36 goals in 159 games in all competitions for the Blues.

Wolves. Made 9 Premier League appearances in 2009/10 and scored on his debut against Blackburn.

The Austrian international, nicknamed "Der Turm" (The Tower), had a true journeyman career spanning Austria, Germany, England, Switzerland and beyond, including Bayern Munich's reserves and Rapid Vienna.

Leeds United. An established regular at Elland Road, the French keeper joined from Lorient in 2019, initially on loan, and helped Leeds win promotion in 2019/20.

Southampton. Made 40 Premier League appearances for the Saints.

The Nigerian international made his name in Belgium with Genk, where he was a prolific scorer and won the league's Golden Boot with 33 goals in 2020/21 before his move to England in January 2023.

Newcastle United. The tallest outfield player to establish himself as a Premier League regular.

A boyhood Newcastle fan from Blyth, he worked his way up from non-league via Fulham and Brighton before his dream move home in 2022. Scored in Newcastle's 2025 Carabao Cup final win over Liverpool, the club's first domestic trophy in 70 years, and earned his first England cap that year at age 32.

Chelsea. Won two Premier League titles (2014/15, 2016/17) and the Golden Glove in 2016/17 before joining Real Madrid in 2018, where he became a Champions League winner.

His man-of-the-match display in the 2022 final is regarded as one of the great final performances by a goalkeeper.
