Arsenal are going through a difficult spell, and following Manchester City’s midweek victory over Burnley, they’ve slipped off the top of the table on goal difference. This weekend offers a chance to respond as they welcome Newcastle, knowing that a win or even a draw would send them back to the summit of the Premier League. The question is whether Arsenal can rediscover their form or if the mounting pressure will prove too much for them.
LOSS: Man City 2-1 Arsenal. Sunday 19th April 2026.DRAW: Arsenal 0-0. Sporting Lisbon. Wednesday 15th April 2026.LOSS: Arsenal 1-2 Bournemouth. Saturday 11th April 2026.WIN: Sporting Lisbon 0-1 Arsenal. Tuesday 7th April 2026.
Eddie Howe is enduring one of his toughest spells as Newcastle manager, with his former club Bournemouth, piling on the pressure last weekend after securing a 2–1 away win. That result left Newcastle down in 14th place, with little left to fight for beyond pride as the season winds down.
Despite their position, Newcastle could still have a significant say in the title race, as they travel to Arsenal this Saturday looking to influence matters at the top.

Arsenal are the favourites heading into this game and are priced at 40/85 to get the victory on Spreadex’s fixed odds market (4/9 on our 2 Up early payout Match Odds market) whilst visitors Newcastle are priced at 5/1 to get the win (9/2 on our 2 Up early payout Match Odds market) and the draw priced at 15/4.
In the reverse fixture Arsenal ran out 2-1 winners at St James’ Park with Gabriel scoring a 96th minute winner for the Gunners. A repeat of that scoreline with Arsenal winning 2-1 is priced at 15/2 this time round.
Our football spread betting prices have Arsenal as the favourites with a Goal Supremacy quote of Arsenal/Newcastle 1.2 – 1.4. This means a 'buy' bet at 1.4 would need a Arsenal two goal win to start turning a profit (e.g. two goal win would win 0.6x your stake, three goal win would win 1.6x your stake etc.).
A 1.2 'sell' bet would need an Arsenal one goal win, draw or Newcastle win to turn a profit (e.g. a one goal Arsenal win would win 0.2x your stake, draw would win 1.2x your stake and one goal Newcastle win would win 2.2x your stake etc.).
Our spread betting Total Goals line is 3.05 – 3.25. So a 3.25 'buy' bet would need at least four goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a 3.05 ‘sell’ bet would need three goals or less to be scored in the match to turn a profit.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. E.g. a 3.25 'buy' Total Goals bet would lose 3.25x your stake if the match ended 0-0. In the 1.4 'buy' Supremacy bet example above, if the game ended in an Arsenal one goal win you would lose 0.4x your stake, a draw would lose 1.4x your stake, and a Newcastle one goal win would lose 2.4x your stake etc. And in the 1.2 'sell' Supremacy example above, the bet would lose 0.8x your stake on a two goal Arsenal win and 1.8x your stake on a three goal Arsenal win etc.
Price Boosts are typically available on the Spreadex website the day before the game, so it’s worth checking back closer to kick-off for enhanced odds. In addition, Spreadex also features ‘Popular Bet-Builders’, specially curated by their in-house pricing team to highlight fan-favourite betting combinations.
In the reverse fixture Gabriel scored a 90th minute header to win the game 2-1, meaning that the Last Match Goal spread betting market made up at 90. This time round the Last Match Goal spread betting market has a spread of 67 – 70. This means a ‘buy’ at 70 would win 20x your stake if there was a repeat of 90th minute drama on Saturday.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. So for example if the Last Match Goal was scored in the 50th minute, a ‘buy’ at 70 would lose 20x times your stake.
Spreadex offers a wide range of football spread betting prices on Arsenal v Newcastle, as well as traditional sportsbook/fixed odds prices.
