Atlético Madrid have endured a fairly disappointing La Liga campaign and currently sit fourth in the table, 22 points behind leaders Barcelona. With Champions League qualification for next season all but secured, they rotated heavily for their weekend trip to Sevilla, fielding a second-string side that ultimately suffered defeat as they prioritised preparation for Tuesday’s decisive clash.
Atlético will be hoping that the benefit of fresher legs helps them protect the two-goal advantage they earned at the Camp Nou last week and secure a place in the semi-finals, where Arsenal are the likely opponents.

Barcelona have enjoyed an impressive campaign and look set to win La Liga, holding a nine-point lead with just seven games remaining. They will now turn their attention to Europe, where they are aiming to reclaim the Champions League title for the first time since 2015.
However, to keep that dream alive, Barcelona must overturn a 2–0 deficit away at Atlético Madrid to reach the semi-finals. It will be no easy task, with Diego Simeone’s side renowned for their defensive resilience. Still, if any team is capable of producing a memorable European comeback, it is Barcelona.

Barcelona are the favourites heading into this game and are priced at 4/5 to get the victory on Spreadex’s fixed odds market (8/11 on our 2 Up early payout Match Odds market) whilst hosts Atletico Madrid are priced at 11/4 to get the win (23/10 on our 2 Up early payout Match Odds market) and the draw priced at 10/3.
Barcelona have produced some famous European comebacks over the years, and they will need another on Tuesday night. A two-goal victory would be enough to take the tie to extra time, while a win by three or more would see them progress directly to the semi-finals.
In the betting markets, Barcelona are available at 19/10 on the -1 Handicap, while they can be backed at 5/2 to qualify for the next round.
Our football spread betting prices have Barcelona as the favourites with a Goal Supremacy quote of Barcelona/Atletico Madrid (h) 0.65 – 0.85. This means a 'buy' bet at 0.85 would need a Barcelona one goal win to start turning a profit (e.g. one goal win would win 0.15x your stake, two goal win would win 1.15x your stake etc.).
A 0.65 'sell' bet would need a draw or Atletico Madrid win to turn a profit (e.g. a draw would win 0.65x your stake and a one goal Atletico Madrid win would win 1.65x your stake etc.).
Our spread betting Total Goals line is 3.7 – 3.9. So a 3.9 'buy' bet would need at least four goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a ‘3.7’ sell bet would need three goals or less to be scored in the match to turn a profit.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. E.g. a 3.9 'buy' Total Goals bet would lose 3.9x your stake if the match ended 0-0. In the 0.85 'buy' Supremacy bet example above, if the game ended in a draw you would lose 0.85x your stake, if the game ended in a Atletico Madrid one goal win then it would lose 1.85x your stake etc. And in the 0.65 'sell' Supremacy example above, the bet would lose 0.35x your stake on a one goal Barcelona win and 1.35x your stake on a two goal Barcelona win etc.
Price Boosts are typically available on the Spreadex website the day before the game, so it’s worth checking back closer to kick-off for enhanced odds. In addition, Spreadex also features ‘Popular Bet-Builders’, specially curated by their in-house pricing team to highlight fan-favourite betting combinations.
The last time these two sides met at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Barcelona won 2-1 with Lewandowski scoring an 87th minute winner. This time round the Last Match Goal spread betting market has a spread of 71-74. This means a repeat of an 87th minute goal would win 13x your stake if you were to buy at 74.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. So for example if the Last Match Goal was scored in the 60th minute, a ‘buy’ at 74 would lose 14x times your stake.
