Our football spread betting prices have the Supremacy as Man City / Burnley (h) at 2.3–2.5. This means a ‘buy’ bet at 2.5 would need Manchester City to win by three goals to start turning a profit (e.g. a three-goal win would win 0.5× your stake, a four-goal win 1.5× your stake, a five-goal win 2.5× your stake, etc.).
A 2.3 ‘sell’ bet would need either a Manchester City win by two goals or fewer, a draw, or Burnley to win to turn a profit (e.g. a two-goal Manchester City win would win 0.3× your stake, a draw would win 2.3× your stake, and a Burnley win by one goal would win 3.3× your stake, etc.).
Our spread betting Total Goals line is 3.65–3.85. This means a 3.85 ‘buy’ bet would need at least four goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit, with four goals returning 0.15× your stake. Conversely, a 3.65 ‘sell’ bet would need three goals or fewer to be scored in the match to turn a profit, with four goals resulting in a small loss of 0.35× your stake.
Remember that with spread betting, if you get the bet wrong, losses can exceed your stake/deposit. For example, a 3.85 ‘buy’ Total Goals bet would lose 3.85× your stake if the match ended 0–0. In the 2.5 ‘buy’ Supremacy bet example above, if the game ended a draw, the bet would lose 2.5× your stake. If Burnley won by one goal, then it would lose 3.5× your stake, etc. And in the 2.3 ‘sell’ Supremacy example above, the bet would lose 0.7× your stake on a 3–0 Manchester City win, 1.7× your stake on a 4–0 Manchester City win, etc.
