Co-hosts Canada will look to kick off their football summer with a first-ever World Cup win and in front of their own fans as they take on Bosnia, who defeated Wales and giants Italy in the qualifying play-offs.
Under former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch, the Canadians are known as a high-pressing, athletic outfit with several talented players like Juventus' Jonathan David and Bayern's Alphonso Davies, although the latter has had a long run of injury concerns.
Bosnia still pin their hopes on veteran striker Edin Dzeko who remains a goalscoring threat, but also possess an industrious team in good form who will look to ride the momentum of their victory over the Italians to make an impact on this tournament.

Canada come into the match as strong favourites for their first group game, currently priced at 3/4 to win. You can also back them at the same price in our 2-Up Early Payout market which pays out if your team goes up by two goals during the game.
Bosnia are the underdogs, and you can back them at 17/5 to win, or at 3/1 in our 2-Up market.
These two sides are meeting for the first time, and with nerves sure to be running high at the World Cup, we may see a somewhat cagey affair. If you expect a stalemate in this one, you can back the draw at 27/10.

We also offer a number of spread betting markets for this clash, including our Goal Supremacy market. This market currently has Canada favoured by 0.65 - 0.85 goals. This means that if you placed a “buy” bet, you would need Canada to win to start turning a profit. A two-goal victory for Canada would win you 1.15 times your stake, a three-goal win 2.15 times your stake, and so on.
However, if you bought and Canada drew or lost, you would lose money. Here, a one-goal loss would cost you 1.65 times your stake, a three-goal loss 2.65 times your stake, etc. A draw would lose you 0.85 times your stake on buy bets.
You can also bet on the total number of goals scored during the game with our Total Goals market. This is currently set at 2.4 - 2.6. If you’re expecting a high-scoring game, you would “buy” and would need at least three total goals to turn a profit. Alternatively, if you expect a low-scoring affair, you could “sell” and would need two goals or fewer to turn a profit.
If you sold and the game ended 1-0, you would win 1.4 times your stake. However, if you sold and the game ended 4-2, you would lose 3.6 times your stake. It’s important to remember that when spread betting, if your bet loses, you can lose multiples of your stake, so be sure to choose appropriate stake sizes for each market.
