Chelsea sit 4th in the Premier League table as we approach the mid-point of the season and will be looking to push on into the new year. Enzo Maresca’s side are seven points adrift of Villa in third, so will need to get a result this weekend if they are to keep pace with the league’s top sides. How will the Blues fare in this one?

Aston Villa are arguably the form side of the Premier League, having won their last seven league fixtures, and last ten in all competitions. A shaky start to the season is now long forgotten as Unai Emery’s men look to establish themselves as genuine title contenders. Can they continue their winning streak at Stamford Bridge on Saturday?

Hosts Chelsea head into this one as favourites despite the visitor’s strong form. You can back them at 17/20 to win the match, or 4/5 in our 2 Up Early Payout market, which pays out if your team goes up by at least two goals at any point, at the same price.
Visitors Aston Villa make the trip to West London as slight underdogs. You can back them to win the match at 14/5, or at 5/2 in our 2 Up Early Payout market. If you’re expecting a stalemate, you can back a draw at 14/5.
A very historic fixture, these two sides have been fairly evenly matched over more than a century of football. Last season’s Premier League saw both sides win one and lose one, with the home side claiming all three points on both occasions.

Spreadex also has a number of spread betting markets for Saturday’s clash. Our “Goal Supremacy” market has Chelsea favoured by 0.55-0.75 goals. This means if you expect Chelsea to win, you can “buy” and if you expect either a draw or Aston Villa to win, you can “sell”.
Our popular “Total Goals” market is currently set at 2.9-3.1. This is for the total number of goals scored in the match by both teams. If you’re expecting a high-scoring game, you can “buy” on this market. You would then need at least four goals in the game to turn a profit, with this winning 0.9x your stake, a five-goal game winning 1.9x your stake, and so on. However, if there were three goals or fewer in the match, you would lose money, with a goalless draw losing you 3.1x your stake.
If you expect a lower-scoring affair, you would “sell”. In this case, you would need fewer than three goals to turn a profit. A 0-0 draw would win you 2.9 times your stake if you sold, but if we saw a high-scoring 4-3 result, you would lose 4.1 times your stake.

The last time these two sides played at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea ran out 3-0 winners, with a late goal from star man Cole Palmer sealing the victory for the Blues. If you expect a similar result on Saturday, you can back Enzo Maresca’s side to win 3-0 at 14/1.
