Kicking off Super Sunday this weekend is Chelsea v Brighton at Stamford Bridge. The two clubs have developed plenty of history in recent years, with Chelsea signing several of Brighton’s key figures, including Graham Potter, Marc Cucurella, Robert Sánchez and João Pedro.
Both sides began their campaigns with impressive victories. Chelsea’s new-look frontline hit the ground running against Fulham, with João Pedro, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers all finding the net. Brighton went one better, moving top of the table after an emphatic 4-0 victory over Aston Villa, with all four goals coming inside the opening 31 minutes.
At least one side’s perfect start will come to an end at Stamford Bridge, but which one will it be?

Chelsea are the favourites to win this fixture, priced at 3/4 on Spreadex’s fixed odds market (3/4 on our 2 Up early payout Match Odds market) with visitors Brighton priced at 3/1 (12/5 on the 2 Up early payout market) and the draw at 3/1.
The last time these two sides met Brighton ran out 3-0 winners with Ferdi Kadioglu, Jack Hinshelwood and Danny Welbeck also getting on the scoresheet. A repeat of that scoreline this time round is priced at 33/1.
Alternatively, if you’re expecting Brighton to win with Chelsea getting on the scoresheet without picking an exact result, Brighton To Win & BTTS is available at 5/1.
Our football spread betting prices have Chelsea as the favourites with a Goal Supremacy quote of Chelsea/Brighton 0.6 – 0.8. This means a 'buy' bet at 0.8 would need a Chelsea win to start turning a profit (e.g. one goal win would win 0.2x your stake, two goal win would win 1.2x your stake etc.).
A 0.6 'sell' bet would need a draw or Brighton win to turn a profit (e.g. a draw would win 0.6x your stake and a one goal Brighton win would win 1.6x your stake etc.).
Our spread betting Total Goals line is 3.05 – 3.25. So, a 3.25 'buy' bet would need at least four goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a ‘3.05’ sell bet would need three goals or less to be scored in the match to turn a profit.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. E.g. a 3.25 'buy' Total Goals bet would lose 3.25x your stake if the match ended 0-0. In the 0.8 'buy' Supremacy bet example above, a draw would lose 0.8x your stake and a one goal Brighton win would lose 1.8x your stake etc. And in the 0.6 'sell' Supremacy example above, the bet would lose 0.4x your stake on a one goal Chelsea win and 1.4x your stake on a two goal Chelsea win etc.
Price Boosts are typically available on the Spreadex website the day before the game, so it’s worth checking back closer to kick-off for enhanced odds. In addition, Spreadex also features ‘Popular Bet-Builders’, specially curated by their in-house pricing team to highlight fan-favourite betting combinations.
In Chelsea last outing Joao Pedro scored Chelsea’s fastest ever Premier League goal in just 31 seconds meaning the spread betting market First Match Goal settled at just 1. This time round the spread for First Match Goal is 31 – 34. This means that if there were a repeat of opening minute drama a sell at 31 would win 30x your stake.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. So for example if the First Match Goal was scored in the 50th minute a ‘sell’ at 31 would lose 19x times your stake.
Spreadex is one of the only sportsbooks in the UK to offer Sports Spread Betting as well as traditional fixed odds prices.
