Leeds, despite being winless in three Premier League matches, look set to go off odds-on for the first time this season as they host West Ham at Elland Road on Friday. Daniel Farke’s side will be targeting three points after a disappointing run, but the underlying numbers are positive for the Whites.
In their 2-0 defeat with Burnley at the weekend, the Whites had an expected goals total of 2.63 whilst the Clarets registered just 0.45 expected goals. However, the game of course doesn’t always go as expected, and Leeds are struggling in front of goal having taken just 17.63% of their big chances, a division low, with only Crystal Palace and Manchester City missing more in total.
One spot of good news for Farke was the recent return of Daniel James to fitness at the weekend and the Welsh international may be fit to start on Friday night. The experiment of playing Brenden Aaronson on the right wing hasn’t worked and with 21 combined goals and assists last season, James’ attacking output has been sorely missed. In another boost for the Whites, Noah Okafor may well be fit enough to make the matchday squad having missed the Burnley clash with an adductor strain.
LEEDS UNITED RECENT FORM
LOSS: Burnley 2-0 Leeds United. Saturday 18th October 2025.LOSS: Leeds United 1-2 Tottenham. Saturday 4th October 2025.DRAW: Leeds United 2-2 Bournemouth. Saturday 27th September 2025.
For West Ham, things are going from bad to worse, and the appointment of Nuno hasn’t stopped the pain just yet. A 3-0 win over fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest at the back end of August remains their only league win and they were insipid in defeat against Brentford on Monday night.
Booed off at both half time and full time, there were questions about Nuno’s team selection which saw Ollie Scarles and Andy Irving handed rare starts and El Hadji Malick Diouf (arguably their best player this season) dropped to the bench.
One man to keep an eye on this Friday will be Crysencio Summerville. The mercurial winger joined West Ham from Leeds last summer and despite injuries last term, he has hit the ground running this season and the Dutchman will be key if the Hammers are to avoid relegation.
WEST HAM RECENT FORM

Despite there being just three places between the two sides, it is Leeds who are odds-on favourites at 17/20 to go into the weekend with all three points. For all their issues in front of goal, they are a strong athletic side, and they will likely outrun and outpress a West Ham outfit who lack legs nearly all over the park.
There is more to football than running however, and West Ham are 10/3 to beat a Lees side who have failed to score in four of their eight league matches so far this term. Alternatively, you can back West Ham on the 2 Up market at 3/1, which could be an interesting angle given Leeds haven’t scored the first goal in a league match since their 1-0 win over Everton on opening weekend.
The draw, which would probably leave both sets of fans disappointed, can be backed at 5/2.
Both teams to score has landed in just three of Leeds’ eight league matches this term and in two of West Ham’s last six matches. BTTS no can be backed at even money whilst under 2.5 has been made a 4/5 shot.

Of the ten Premier League matches this weekend, only Wolves and Burnley’s game has a lower Total Goals spread than Friday’s clash. You can trade goals at 2.6-2.8, with buyers at 2.8 winning 1.2x their stake if the match finished with four goals, but losing 0.8x their stake if it finished with just two.
In the Supremacy market, Leeds have been made 0.55-0.75 favourites with buyers needing the Whites to win to secure a profit. Rob Hulse and Shaun Derry were on the scoresheet back in 2005 in the last time Leeds won a league game against West Ham at Elland Road and the Whites have just one win in nine meetings with the East Londoners.

Further price boosts and specials will be available closer to kick off on Friday, but one man to look out for in your bet builders is Joe Rodon. The Welshman has seven shots in his eight league games this season, scoring against Bournemouth and missing a glaring opportunity against Spurs. With a headed goal against Belgium for Wales the other week and West Ham struggling in the air this season he could well fill his boots again on Friday.
As we mentioned before, Leeds have struggled to score the opening goals in matches so far this term, so if you fancy them to win, the 17/2 on them to win from behind could be worth a look.
