The 2025/26 Premier League action continues to entice viewers and is now at match week 9 of 38, with Man Utd looking to make it three league wins in a row under Ruben Amorim. However, they face the challenging visit of Brighton, an outfit that has had a mixed start to the season but has been a particular bogey side of recent times for the Red Devils.
The Seagulls started their campaign slowly but have picked up since then with some highly impressive results, including defeating Man City, Chelsea and Newcastle.

The Spreadex Sports fixed odds Match Odds betting prices have Man Utd as 21/20 favourites to secure a victory while our 2 Up early pay out market, which pays out when a team goes two goals up, has the Red Devils at 19/20.
Brighton meanwhile are available at 23/10 for the victory (2/1 on our 2 Up market), with the draw at 14/5.
As mentioned, H2H form has been heavily in Brighton's favour in recent times, with the Seagulls winning an impressive four of the last five meetings. An even more impressive stat is that they have come away from Old Trafford with three points on each of their last three visits, something few teams in the Premier League could boast matching.
Will Ruben Amorim's side ride the wave of their upturn in form to stop that rot here, or can Brighton make it four on the spin in Manchester?
Our football spread betting prices have the Goal Supremacy as Man Utd/Brighton 0.3 - 0.5. This means if Man Utd won 2-0 (as they did in their last win over Brighton, or by any other two goal margin), a 'buy' bet at 0.5 would mean a return of 1.5x your initial stake.
However, if you bought at 0.5 in Utd's favour and the match ended goalless, you would lose 0.5x your stake. Or, if Brighton were to grab a 3-1 (or any other two goal margin) win, as they did on their last Old Trafford visit, the market would settle negatively at -2 and a buy at 0.5 would result in a loss of 2.5x your opening stake.
You can calculate various make-ups by using our handy spread betting calculator, found here.
Our spread betting Total Goals line is 3.2- 3.4. So a 3.4 'buy' bet would need at least four goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a 3.2 sell bet would need less than three goals to be scored in the match to turn a profit.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. E.g. a 3.4 'buy' Total Goals bet would lose 3.4x your opening stake if the match ended 0-0, and so on.
It has taken almost a year of Ruben Amorim's tenure at Man Utd for the Portuguese manager to finally secure back-to-back league victories, in what is undoubtedly an indictment of his difficult tenure thus far. However, the tide does seem to be turning now with the streak finally achieved with wins over Sunderland and, more impressively, defending champions Liverpool at Anfield.
Key to those victories were Utd being able to quickly rush out of the blocks and score an early goal, with a 2nd minute strike against Liverpool following them opening their account in the 8th minute against Sunderland. With our 1st Man Utd Goal market at a starting spread of 30 - 33, would you buy or sell?
In terms of goalscorers, Man Utd's first goalscorers in their two most recent wins have been Bryan Mbeumo - available here to score first at 15/2, and Mason Mount - available at 9/1 here. Meanwhile, having netted the winning goal at Anfield, Harry Maguire will undoubtedly be an aerial threat and can be backed to score anytime at 13/2.
On Brighton's side, former Utd striker Danny Welbeck scored a double for the Seagulls in their victory over Newcastle, and also grabbed a brace in the win over Chelsea. Can the former Red Devils man haunt his former side? You can back Welbeck to score 2+ goals at 8/1.
Our Brighton Total Goal Minutes spread betting quote is 68 - 76. In the last five meetings with Utd, this market has settled at 141, 122, 0, 144, and 90. So, for example, if there was a repeat of Brighton having a TGM make-up of 144 then a 'buy' bet at 76 would return 68x your stake.
However, if they were to fail to score at all (makeup of 0) and you placed a buy bet, you could lose 68x your opening stake. Or, if you placed a sell bet at 68 and the market settled at 90, you could lose 22x your stake. Or, if you sold at 68 and the market settled at 0, you would win 68x your stake.
Five of the previous ten H2H matches has seen both teams score, and you can back both teams to find the net here at 40/85, or 8/5 if you don't think both will notch a goal.
