Marseille are into their second season with Roberto De Zerbi as manager, the Italian chose the French club as his next project after an impressive spell at Brighton saw him linked with several big clubs. Marseille were in a tough spot in the Champions League with only one win from their first four games. But back-to-back wins has improved their standing.

Liverpool Recent Form
Liverpool’s strange unbeaten run continued with a disappointing 1-1 against Burnley, Slot’s side created plenty of chances in the first half but failed to convert. With Xabi Alonso now available to take over, pressure will increase further on Slot. In the Champions League, Liverpool are in a position to qualify in the top eight and avoid extra fixtures in the Round of 32.

Liverpool have a strong record vs Marseille, winning three of their four Champions League encounters. The two sides met in the Group Stage in consecutive years from 2007/08 to 2008/09. The 2007 encounter in France finished 4-0 to Liverpool. Goalscorers included Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres. While in 2008 Liverpool won 2-1 thanks to a Gerrard brace. Liverpool are 15/2 to win 2-1 on Wednesday, and 28/1 to win 4-0. Marseille are 5/2 to win, while a draw is 14/5.

E.g. a 1st goal in the 24th minute would return a loss of 10x your stake.
