Spreadex Sports previews the upcoming 2025/26 Premier League fixture between Newcastle at St James' Park. The Red Devils are currently the league's most in-form side, and have surged up to third in the table as the Michael Carrick revolution continues to pick up pace.
Newcastle, meanwhile, are in the midst of a mixed run of results, and sit in a disappointing 13th position in the league. The Magpies will no doubt be concerned at their recent run of poor home form, considering the fortress that St James' Park has been in recent times. Can Eddie Howe's side stop the rot and avoid a fourth consecutive home league defeat, or will Utd continue marching toward securing Champions League football?
When is Newcastle v Man Utd? Wednesday, March 4th 2026.
What time is kick-off for Newcastle v Man Utd?8.15pm, UK time.
Where is Newcastle v Man Utd being played? St James' Park, Newcastle.
How can I watch Newcastle v Man Utd? Live on Sky Sports from 8.15pm.
As mentioned, Newcastle have had a terrible run of home form compared to earlier in the season when most of the Magpies points were being scored at their own ground. Currently on a run of three losses on their patch against Everton, Brentford, and Aston Villa, a fourth defeat here will leave them further adrift of the top half.
Eddie Howe's hopes will certainly not be helped by the opponents here, as Michael Carrick's United look to be ominously improving with each passing match. Utd have been almost perfect since the former Red Devils midfielder took charge, securing six wins and a draw from the seven matches in that time.

The Spreadex Sports fixed odds Match Odds betting prices have both sides priced up almost identically, with Utd at 31/20 to secure an away victory while our 2 Up early pay out market, which pays out when a team goes two goals up, has the Red Devils at 11/8.
Newcastle meanwhile are available at 8/5 for the home win (7/5 on our 2 Up market), with the draw at 11/4.
The Magpies have had the upper hand in recent H2Hs, winning three of the last five meetings (two defeats). Of the last ten, Utd have won just three times, with two draws, and five wins for Newcastle.
With only three of the last ten meetings seeing Both Teams Scoring, you can back Both to Score - No at 7/4 here.
Our football spread betting prices have the Goal Supremacy as Newcastle/Man Utd -0.1 - 0.1. This means if Utd won 3-1 (or by any other two goal margin), a 'buy' bet at 0.1 would mean a return of 1.9x your initial stake.
However, if you bought at 0.1 in Utd's favour and the match ended goalless, you would lose 0.1x your stake. Or, if Newcastle were to grab a 2-0 (or any other one goal margin) win, the market would settle negatively at -1 and a buy at 0.1 would result in a loss of 2.1x your opening stake.
You can calculate various make-ups by using our handy spread betting calculator, found here.
Our spread betting Total Goals line is 3.2 - 3.4. So a 3.4 'buy' bet would need at least four goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a 3.2 sell bet would need less than three goals to be scored in the match to turn a profit.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. E.g. a 3.4 'buy' Total Goals bet would lose 3.4x your opening stake if the match ended 0-0, and so on.
The last meeting of these sides on Boxing Day ended in a 1-0 win for Man Utd. You can back a repeat here at 12/1. The last meeting at St James' Park ended in a 4-1 win for Newcastle - you can back a repeat of that scoreline at 28/1.
