PSG V NEWCASTLE BETTING FORM

A shock loss to Sporting Lisbon last week leaves PSG needing a win to guarantee a top eight finish in the Champions League. The reigning champions will welcome Newcastle on Wednesday, a side they have never beaten and a side also competing for the coveted top eight spot. However, PSG will not be discouraged should they fail to make the top eight, having come 15th in last year’s league phase before the winning the competition.

PSG Recent Form
WIN – Auxerre 0-1 PSG, 23rd January 2026 – Ligue 1
LOSS – Sporting 2-1 PSG, 20th January 2026 – UCL
WIN – PSG 3-0 LOSC, 16th January 2026 – Ligue 1

Newcastle sit 7th in the current Champions League table, though have the same number of points as Atalanta who are 13th. Eddie Howe’s side will be keen to stay in the top eight, but with a tough test away at PSG would likely be happy with a draw. The Magpies’ league form is somewhat questionable, but they have been consistent in Europe, and will be looking to end the league phase of the Champions League strongly.

Newcastle Recent Form
LOSS – Newcastle 0-2 Aston Villa, 25th January 2026 – EPL
WIN – Newcastle 3-0 PSV, 21st January 2026 - UCL
DRAW – Wolves 0-0 Newcastle, 4th January 2026 - EPL

Reigning champions PSG come into this Champions League clash as favourites. The hosts are currently priced at 8/15 to win the match, or 40/85 in our 2 Up early payout market, which pays out if your team goes two goals up at any point during the game.

Visitors Newcastle are clear underdogs in this one at 9/2 to win, or 15/4 in our 2 Up market. These two sides met in the Champions League group stage back in 2023, with the Magpies getting the better of the fixture, drawing away and winning at home. Can they repeat the trick for an upset this Wednesday?

PSG V NEWCASTLE SPREAD BETTING PRICES

Spreadex also has a number of spread betting markets for Wednesday’s clash. Our “Goal Supremacy” market has PSG favoured by 1.05-1.25 goals. This means if you expect PSG to win by at least two goals, you can “buy” and if you expect either a draw, Newcastle win or PSG win by only one goal, you can “sell”.

Our popular “Total Goals” market is currently set at 3.25-3.45. This is for the total number of goals scored in the match by both teams. Both sides have shown prowess in front of goal this season, and if you expect this to continue, you can “buy” on this market. You would then need at least four goals in the game to turn a profit, with this winning 0.55x your stake, a five-goal game winning 1.55x your stake, and so on.

If you sold you would need three goals or fewer to turn a profit. However, if you sold and the game ended 4-2, you would lose 2.75x your stake.
