QATAR V SWITZERLAND BETTING FORM

Hosts of the 2022 World Cup, Qatar will be hoping for a better outing than they had on home soil. After managing just one goal across their three group games, and failing to earn a single point, the hosts failed to announce themselves on the world stage. Four years on and they have a chance at redemption, but the signs aren’t all positive. Led by former Wolves and West Ham Boss Julian Lopetegui, Qatar have won just once since June 2025, partly due to poor form and partly due to disruption to their schedule caused by the war in Iran. They face a tough opener this year against Group B favourites Switzerland and will need to be at their best if they are to improve on their previous World Cup display.

QATAR FORM

DRAW: Qatar 0-0 El Salvador, 6 June 2026 – International Friendly
LOSS: Ireland 1-0 Qatar, 28 May 2026 – International Friendly
LOSS: Qatar 0-3 Tunisia, 17 March 2025 – FIFA Arab Cup

Switzerland breezed through qualification to lock in their sixth straight appearance at the World Cup finals this summer. However, things have never quite clicked for them on the world stage, as they have failed to progress beyond the round of 16 at the World Cup since 1954, when they hosted the tournament. Being drawn with one of the host nations, Canada, leaves Switzerland with a favourable group, and with some top-tier talent in the squad, Swiss fans will be expecting big things from their team this summer. Veteran Granit Xhaka will lead the side after a great year with Sunderland, while dynamic attackers like Breel Embolo and Dan Ndoye will look to provide the goals. How far can Switzerland go this summer?

WHAT ARE THE BEST ODDS ON QATAR V SWITZERLAND?

Switzerland are strong favourites for their opening match, currently priced at 2/9 to win the match. You can also back them at 1/5 in our 2 Up market, which pays out if your team goes up by two goals.

Qatar will be the underdogs in San Francisco as they head to the World Cup for just the second time in the country’s history. However, their head-to-head record with Switzerland is positive, with Qatar winning the only match between the two sides, a friendly back in 2018. You can back them to win on Saturday at 10/1, or at 9/1 in our 2 Up market.

If you expect the two sides to be level after 90 minutes, you can back the draw at 5/1.

QATAR V SWITZERLAND FOOTBALL SPREAD BETTING PRICES

We also offer a number of spread betting markets for Saturday’s match, including our Goal Supremacy market. This market currently has Switzerland favoured by 1.85-2.05 goals. This means that if you placed a “buy” bet, you would need Switzerland to win by at least three goals to start turning a profit. A three-goal victory for Switzerland would win you 0.95 times your stake, a four-goal win 1.95 times your stake, and so on.

However, if you bought and Switzerland drew, lost, or won by two or fewer goals, you would lose money. Here, a one-goal loss for Switzerland would cost you 3.05 times your stake, whilst a draw would cost you 2.05 times your stake.

You can also bet on the total number of goals scored during the game with our Total Goals market. This is currently set at 2.9-3.1. If you’re expecting a high-scoring game, you would “buy” and would need at least four total goals to turn a profit. Alternatively, if you expect a low-scoring affair, you could “sell” and would need two goals or fewer to turn a profit.

If you sold and the game ended 1-0, you would win 1.9 times your stake. However, if you sold and the game ended 4-2, you would lose 3.1 times your stake. It’s important to remember that when spread betting, if your bet loses, you can lose multiples of your stake, so be sure to choose appropriate stake sizes for each market.
