The Vitality T20 Blast is England and Wales’ premier domestic Twenty20 cricket competition, featuring the top county teams in a fast-paced tournament packed with big hitting, electric atmospheres and emerging talent. First introduced in 2003 by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), it was the first professional domestic T20 league in the world and remains a cornerstone of the English cricket calendar.
Played across historic county grounds throughout England and Wales, the competition brings together 18 county sides divided into two groups. Teams compete in a round-robin league stage before the top sides progress to the knockout rounds, culminating in the showpiece finals day.
With packed crowds, festival-style matchdays and dramatic finishes, the Vitality T20 Blast consistently delivers thrilling short-format cricket throughout the English summer.
The most recent completed Vitality T20 Blast season saw Somerset crowned champions after defeating Hampshire with an over to spare in the final at Edgbaston.
England international Jordan Cox was named Player of the Tournament following a series of explosive batting performances during the campaign.

The next edition of the Vitality T20 Blast is expected to take place during the English cricket season in 2026, typically running from late May through July, with finals day usually scheduled in mid-summer. Exact dates will be confirmed by the England and Wales Cricket Board closer to the tournament.
Matches are hosted at county cricket venues across England and Wales. Regular grounds include Edgbaston in Birmingham, The Oval in London, Old Trafford Cricket Ground in Manchester and Trent Bridge in Nottingham. The knockout stage culminates in the famous Finals Day, traditionally held at Edgbaston.
