Tottenham couldn’t have got off to a much worse start to begin the new season, losing 3-0 to Brentford and looking completely off the pace. This came after a very busy (and expensive) summer window which had Spurs fans feeling optimistic despite their 17th-placed finish last year. A midweek thumping of Charlton in the EFL Cup, which included a goal from new man Sávio, will have helped lift spirits, but tougher tests await at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Spurs’ home form last season was awful, and a win feels like a must this Saturday if they are to avoid the toxic atmosphere we saw during parts of last season.
TOTTENHAM FORM
WIN: Tottenham 5-1 Charlton, 26 August 2026 – EFL Cup LOSS: Brentford 3-0 Tottenham, 2 August 2026 – Premier LeagueDRAW: Tottenham 2-2 Hoffenheim, 16 August 2026 – Friendly
Newcastle, on the other hand, are coming off a summer characterised by outgoings rather than incomings. The Magpies lost some of their very best players, and also their manager this summer, so expectations were fairly low heading into their Premier League opener against Liverpool. However, Matthias Maissle’s side looked sharp and led for the majority of the game. A last-minute penalty from Dominik Szoboszlai meant they only earned one point, but fans saw more than enough to feel confident going forward. Now they have a trip to London to take on a revamped Tottenham side. Can they get their first win of the season?
NEWCASTLE FORM
WIN: Newcastle 3-2 West Brom, 26 August 2026 – EFL CupDRAW: Newcastle 2-2 Liverpool, 23 August 2026 – Premier LeagueDRAW: Newcastle 1-1 Strasbourg (Strasbourg won 3-2 on pens),16 August 2026 – Friendly

Hosts Spurs are the slight favourites in this one despite a shaky start last week. You can back them to win the match at 5/4, or at 23/20 in our 2-Up Early Payout market, which pays out if your team goes two goals up at any time during the game.
Newcastle are the underdogs at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. They head into this one at 19/10 to win, or at 13/8 in our 2-Up market. If you’re expecting a stalemate over 90 minutes, you can back a draw at 27/10.

We also offer a number of spread betting markets for Saturday’s game, including our Goal Supremacy market. This market currently has Tottenham favoured by 0.1-0.3 goals. This means that if you placed a “buy” bet, you would need Spurs to win to start turning a profit. A one-goal victory for Tottenham would win you 0.7 times your stake, a two-goal win 1.7 times your stake, and so on.
However, if you bought and Spurs drew or lost the game, you would lose money. Here, a draw would cost you 0.3 times your stake, whilst a one-goal loss would cost you 1.3 times your stake etc.
You can also bet on the total number of goals scored during the game with our Total Goals market. This is currently set at 3.05-3.25. If you’re expecting a high-scoring game, you would “buy” and would need at least four total goals to turn a profit. Alternatively, if you expect a low-scoring affair, you could “sell” and would need three goals or fewer to turn a profit.
If you sold and the game ended 1-0, you would win 2.05 times your stake. However, if you sold and the game ended 4-2, you would lose 2.95 times your stake. It’s important to remember that when spread betting, if your bet loses, you can lose multiples of your stake, so be sure to choose appropriate stake sizes for each market.
