West Ham v Newcastle betting form

West Ham supporters have endured a dismal start to the 2025–26 campaign, with just one win from their opening nine Premier League matches. This dreadful run has left the Hammers languishing second from bottom, already four points adrift of safety.

The club has already turned to a managerial change, replacing Graham Potter with Nuno Espírito Santo, but the switch has done little to spark a revival. Under Nuno’s guidance, West Ham have collected only a single point from four games, suffering damaging defeats to fellow strugglers Brentford and Leeds.

Frustration among fans continues to grow, particularly at the London Stadium, where the team has not tasted victory since February. As they prepare to host Newcastle on Sunday, the question remains: can West Ham finally halt their alarming slide?

WEST HAM RECENT PREMIER LEAGUE FORM

LOSS: Leeds 2-1 West Ham. Friday 24th October 2025.
LOSS: West Ham 0-2 Brentford. Monday 20th October 2025.
LOSS: Arsenal 2-0 West Ham. Saturday 4th October 2025.
DRAW: Everton 1-1 West Ham. Monday 29th September 2025.

Newcastle’s start to the 2025–26 season has been a mixed bag, with three wins, three draws, and three defeats from their opening nine Premier League fixtures. While supporters might have hoped for a stronger start, there are still plenty of positives to take. New signing Nick Woltemade has quickly become a fan favourite, netting four goals in his first six league appearances and helping to soften the blow of Alexander Isak’s summer departure.

The Magpies will be aiming to secure back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time this season as they visit a struggling West Ham side. The London Stadium has proven a favourable venue for Newcastle in recent years — but can they extend that record and build some much-needed momentum on Sunday?

NEWCASTLE RECENT PREMIER LEGAEUE FORM

WIN: Newcastle 2-1 Fulham. Saturday 25th October 2025.
LOSS: Brighton 2-1 Newcastle. Saturday 18th October 2025.
WIN: Newcastle 2-0 Nottingham Forest. Sunday 5th October 2025.
LOSS: Newcastle 1-2 Arsenal. Saturday 28th September 2025.

What are the best odds on West Ham v Newcastle?

Newcastle are the favourites to get all three points in this fixture, priced at 8/13 on Spreadex’s fixed odds market (4/7 on our 2 Up early payout Match Odds market) with hosts West Ham priced at 15/4 (10/3 on the 2 Up early payout market) and the draw at 10/3.

There’s a noticeable pattern emerging in the recent results of both sides. Each of Newcastle’s last four Premier League matches has seen the winning team score exactly twice, while West Ham have suffered three consecutive defeats in which their opponents have also struck twice. With the Magpies coming into this clash as strong favourites, Newcastle to score exactly two goals and win looks an intriguing bet — currently priced at 3/1.

West Ham v Newcastle football spread betting prices.

Our football spread betting prices have visitors Newcastle as the favourites with a Goal Supremacy quote of Newcastle/West Ham 0.85 – 1.05. This means a 'buy' bet at 1.05 would need a two goal Newcastle win to start turning a profit (e.g. two goal win would win 0.95x your stake, three goal win would win 1.95x your stake etc.).

A 0.85 'sell' bet would need a draw or West Ham win to turn a profit (e.g. draw would win 0.85x your stake, one goal West Ham win 1.85x your stake etc.).

Our spread betting Total Goals line is 2.8 – 3. So a 3  'buy' bet would need at least four goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a ‘2.8’ sell bet would need two goals or less to be scored in the match to turn a profit.

Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. E.g. a 3  'buy' Total Goals bet would lose 3x your stake if the match ended 0-0. In the 1.05 'buy' Supremacy bet example above, if the game ended a draw the bet would lose 1.05x your stake. If West Ham won by one goal then it would lose 2.05x your stake etc. And in the 0.85 'sell' Supremacy example above, the bet would lose 0.15x your stake on a one goal Newcastle, 1.15x your stake on a two goal Newcastle win etc.

West Ham v Newcastle betting specials and price boosts

Price Boosts are typically available on the Spreadex website the day before the game, so it’s worth checking back closer to kick-off for enhanced odds. In addition, Spreadex also features ‘Popular Bet-Builders’, specially curated by their in-house pricing team to highlight fan-favourite betting combinations.

One player worth considering in your bet builders is Nick Woltemade. The towering German striker has already found the net four times in the Premier League and has admirably stepped into Alexander Isak’s shoes. Standing at 6'6", Woltemade’s aerial presence could prove a real handful for a West Ham defence that has struggled to deal with crosses and set pieces this season.

Another interesting angle is the Last Match Goal market. Both teams scored in the 90th minute in their previous Premier League outings, yet the current spread for the final goal in this fixture is set at 65–68 minutes — a line that could offer value if late drama strikes again.
