Young Reds travel to Villa, Argyle v Rovers

A young Liverpool face Aston Villa in the EFL Cup, Plymouth and Bristol meet in their FA Cup replay, and India and West Indies battle in their 2nd ODI - it’s the Spread Bets of the Day!

1. Aston Villa v Liverpool – Rhian Brewster SMM, 24-29
Facing the unenviable task of 2 fixtures in 2 days, Liverpool have made it clear which competition they are more bothered about. The senior players are off to Qatar for a FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against CONCACAF Champions League winners Monterrey. The club’s under-23s, meanwhile, travel to Aston Villa for their EFL Cup quarter-final.

Villa – who have found solace in Cup away from their relegation-flirting form in the league – will be both relieved and insulted to not be facing a full strength Liverpool. For the Reds it gives a few of their youngsters a chance to really shine.

Top of that list is Rhian Brewster, who will be chasing his first goal for the club. The 19-year old sits at a SMM spread of 24-29, ahead of Harvey Elliott at 16-20 and Layton Stewart at 14-18. In comparison Villa’s Wesley – who has only 4 goals in 17 appearances – is at 48-56.

2. Plymouth v Bristol Rovers – Bookings, 34-38
In League One the Rovers are in contention for automatic promotion, 2 points adrift of 2nd place Ipswich. Plymouth, meanwhile, are lurking on the outside of the play-off zone in League Two, the club chasing an immediate rebound after last season’s relegation.

The first attempt at this 2nd round FA Cup fixture was full of incident. An 84th minute penalty equaliser for Argyle, 5 yellow cards, an injury time red card for Rollin Menayese and a subsequent missed spot kick from Antoni Sarcevic, who had converted 10 minutes previous.

Will Tuesday’s replay be just as dramatic? Spreadex are offering a Bookings spread of 34-38, where 10 points are awarded per yellow and 25 per red, with a 2nd yellow making up to 35 points.

3. India v West Indies 2nd ODI – India/West Indies Supremacy, 31-41
The visiting West Indies got the better of India in their 1st ODI, winning by 8 whole wickets, in large part thanks to Shimron Hetmyer’s 139 runs.

This time out the hosts are the favourites at a Suprmeacy spread of 31-41. That’s where 1 point is awarded per run won by, or 10 points per wicket.
