Football

Things may be all but decided in the Premier League ahead of Sunday’s final matches (Man City 1/50 to win the title, Liverpool 16/1), but who will join Leicester and Burnley in the top flight next season?

In the first leg of the Championship play-offs tonight (Thursday) it’s Brighton v Derby (Brighton 7/5, draw 21/10, Derby 2/1) and tomorrow Wigan v QPR (Wigan 11/10, draw 11/5, QPR 5/1). Derby are 9/4 to go up, Wigan 5/2, QPR 5/2 and Brighton 7/2.

For Sunday’s final round of Premier League matches, as ever we’ll have in-play fixed odds and spread betting on all the matches – and don’t forget to use our Coupons feature either online or on your mobile to see bets across the full group of games listed in the same place.

The main focus will be at the Etihad where Manchester City are huge 1/8 favourites to beat West Ham and claim their second title in three years. Even a draw, at 15/2, would do the trick given the Citizens’ vastly superior goal difference over Liverpool. The Hammers meanwhile are 16/1 to spring a surprise.

Should West Ham cause a shock, Liverpool would need to beat Newcastle at home and are priced 2/11 to do so. The draw at Anfield is 6/1 and a Magpies win 14/1.

Manchester United still have very slim hopes of securing Europa League football next season, however they would need to win at Southampton and hope Tottenham lose at home to Aston Villa for this to happen.

United are 13/8 to win at St Mary’s, Southampton are also 13/8 and the draw is 12/5. So while that game is in the balance, our traders are expecting things to be more one-sided at the Lane with Spurs 40/85 for the win, Villa 11/2 and the draw 7/2.

At the foot of the table, already relegated Cardiff and Fulham are only battling to avoid finishing bottom while Norwich are also effectively doomed given their goal difference is 17 worse than West Brom three points above them.

So our spread betting Supremacy prices for the remaining games are; Chelsea/Cardiff (h) 1.3 – 1.5, Fulham/Palace -0.1 -0.1, Everton/Hull (h) 0.35 – 0.55, Arsenal/Norwich (h) 0.5 – 0.7, Sunderland/Swansea 0.15 – 0.35 and West Brom/Stoke 0.3 – 0.5.

The tournament dubbed ‘the fifth major’ begins today as some of the biggest names in golf compete for the largest prize fund in the game in the Players Championship.

Defending champion Tiger Woods is still recuperating from back surgery, so who will eventually come out on top at TPC Sawgrass, Florida this time around?

Horse Racing

After the excitement of the 1,000 and 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket at the weekend, racing enthusiasts are looking for clues ahead of the Oaks and Derby at Epsom next month.

Australia may have finished third behind surprise 2,000 winner Night of Thunder and second-placed Kingman on Saturday, but given the circumstances with a strong finish after the field split to different sides of the track, the colt still leads the betting for the Derby at 6/4 ahead of True Story at 11/2, Kingston Hill 12/1 and Western Hymn 14/1.

In the Oaks, Taghrooda is the standout 5/2 favourite ahead of Intimal at 17/2 and Cambridge at 10/1 after her convincing win in the Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket on Sunday.

This weekend the big race is on Saturday with the Victoria Cup at Ascot, a seven-furlong sprint which is often used as a launch pad to the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot. The betting is wide open for this one with Horsted Keynes, Purcell, Brownsea Brink, Don’t Bother Me, Georgian Bay, Flyman, Ayaar and Glen Moss all in contention.

It’s the final round of Aviva Premiership action this weekend with three of the four semi-finalists already known.

All the matches are at 3.15pm on Saturday with our live betting games Harlequins v Bath and Northampton Saints v Wasps. We’ll have a non-live service on the other clashes.

Our cricket coverage continues to take in the explosive action from the Indian Premier League as well as offering in-play fixed odds and spread betting on the Ireland v Sri Lanka second ODI today.

We’re on to week 14 in the Premier League of Darts as the race to secure a top-four spot hots up.

Dutch masters Raymond van Barneveld and Michael van Gerwen go head to head in an attractive clash, while Phil Taylor takes on Peter Wright in what is effectively a knockout tie as both look to book a place in the play-offs.

Motor Racing

The fifth Grand Prix of the season takes place this weekend with the drivers taking on the Circuit de Catalunya in Spain.

Mercedes have dominated proceedings so far. In the four races, only once has one of their drivers failed to finish in the top two and that was when Lewis Hamilton suffered engine trouble and had to withdraw in the opening race in Melbourne, Australia.
