GUTSY GIRL impressed on her all-weather debut in mid-July, landing a course and distance fillies’ handicap in comfortable fashion at odds of 5-1. She was sent off at just 9-2 for a 14-runner 5f fillies’ handicap at York’s Ebor meeting the following month where she did well to finish a modest second to Star of Lady M from the worst of the draw in stall 14. The Charlie Fellowes-trained three-year-old disappointed behind Star Of Lady M in Listed company at Ayr last month but swerved left on leaving the stalls, raced away from where the action unfolded and was always struggling. KALAMUNDA took his all-weather record to 1111 (4-4) when justifying odds of 8-13 at Lingfield last time, despite looking ill at ease on the track. Joseph Parr’s four-year-old is stuck out wide in stall 14 of 14 but that’s not insurmountable as this hold-up performer will be tucked in to get cover and there are plenty of front-runners in opposition.
