Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew found Southwell winner STANLEY SPENCER on Wednesday and has three recommended bets/trades on Thursday, September 5th.
It’s early days where Warren Greatrex-trained two-year-olds are concerned but the ones he has run so far have tended to do well on their second career starts, with the nine qualifiers producing two winners (28-1 and 15-8), three seconds (28-1, 17-2 and 7-2), a 20-1 fourth, two fifth places (40-1 and 25-1) and a 20-1 eighth. ORCHARD finished last of 13 on his debut at Newbury on August 17th but started at 28-1 and ran very green. The son of Wooded looms capable of taking a big step forward this afternoon and rates a buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
Recommendation: Back ORCHARD in Salisbury 2.50
DEQUINTO is trading at around 7-2 for this 6f handicap of the strength of his Brighton maiden second to Berkshire Nugget on August 20th but he could never lay a glove on the winner that day and looked flattered by arriving late on a day the headwind made life very tough for prominent racers. Tony Carroll’s five-year-old is a 24-race maiden and, while effective on Polytrack, he looks worth opposing once more. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.
Recommendation: Oppose DEQUINTO in Lingfield 4.00
ANCIENT CAPITAL’s three Flat runs on good/faster going over 1m4f or further for Robert Stephens produced form figures of 123 (1-3) and the five-year-old looks very interesting now making his debut for Robbie Llewellyn. His new handler does well at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, especially when they are fitted with a tongue-tie (Ancient Capital wears one for the first time today). The son of Frankel was pulled up at Exeter last time but jumped out to his left on the right-handed track and the return to Newbury will suit. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back ANCIENT CAPITAL in Newbury 5.40
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
