Daily Spread Betting Round-up
A new low for Arsenal and a good night for Newcastle – it’s the Daily Spread Betting Roundup! But exactly how much could you have won? Ljungberg out? – Arsenal v BrightonIt is probably safe to say at this point that Freddie Ljungberg’s temporary stint as Arsenal manager will remain just that. Unable to beat either the relegation-troubled Norwich, or a Brighton side who had lost their last 3 games in a row, the Gunners are now without a league win in 2 months. It didn’t take too long for the evening to sour for the hosts. In the 36th minute Adam Webster gave the Seagulls the lead, Arsenal taking until the 2nd half to find an equaliser via Alexandre Lacazette’s 50th minute header. Neal Maupay used his bonce to put Brighton back in front with 10 minutes to go, sealing all 3 points and lifting the club up to 13th. Buying the visitors to win at a binary spread of 16.6-20, then, would have netted you 80 times your original bet. That those latter 2 goals were headers left the Headed SMMs make-up at 210 against a starting price of 41-48, leaving you with 162 times your initial stake. The back and forth of the tie, reflecting in each side getting 9 corners apiece, was also pretty profitable. Buying a Cross Corners spread of 28-31 would have bagged you 60 times your opening wager. Magpies dull the Blades – Sheffield United v NewcastleEnding an unbeaten streak that stretched to 7 games, Newcastle left Bramall Lane with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United, putting a healthy 5 point buffer between them and the relegation zone in the process. Given the Blades’ recent performances, an away win was something of a surprise. Enough of one, at least, that selling a Sheffield/Newcastle Goal Supremacy spread of 0.65-0.85 left you with 2.65 times your initial stake.
