Daily Spread Betting Round-up
There was some top-quality sporting fare at the weekend and we have scanned through the results to bring you three big winning spread bets from the last few days.
Domestic seasons got underway across Europe at the weekend and the curtain raiser for the Eredivisie saw AZ land a shock win in the Dutch Super Cup. In front of their own fans, PSV got off to a poor start when Joey Veerman was sent off after nine minutes for inadvertently kicking Maxx Meerdink in the head when challenging for a bouncing ball in midfield.
Meerdink sufficiently recovered from his injury to not the visitors in front after 25 minutes and from there it was one way traffic for the KNVB Cup champions. Alkmaar added another three goals to run out 4-0 winners as they secured their second Johan Cruijff Trophy.
Before the match it was PSV who were the favourites, having been given a start of 1-1.2 on the Supremacy spread. With AZ running out 4-0 winners, the spread settled at -4 with sellers winning 5x their stake. It might not seem like a big win, but you don’t often get such a win on low volatility markets like this.
For those who like playing the Supremacy spread, but want a bit more volatility, you can play the 10-5 Supremacy which was 9-12 in PSV’s favour before kick-off. With ten points awarded for the win and five points for each goal won by, this market settled at -30, with sellers winning 39x their stake.
Forget about The Hundred, it is all about Metro Bank-fever as the counties compete for glory in the 50-over competition. Derbyshire are far from one of the biggest county sides, but they kept their One Day Cup dreams alive at the weekend when they thrashed basement boys Sussex.
Bating first at their Derby home, the Falcons’ veteran Wayne Madsen starred with the bat as the South African-born, Italian international, reached a score of 104* as Derbyshire finished on 325-7.
In reply, the Sharks never found their bite as they wound up bowled out for 137 in the 32nd over. Before the match, the Supremacy was 19-29, but a 188-run winning margin saw the spread settle at 188 as buyers won 159x their stake.
Spectators at Progressive Field on Saturday night were treated to a high-scoring ball game as the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Cleveland Guardians 12-8. It was the fourth straight victory for the Diamondbacks, who hold the second wildcard spot in the National League (even after yesterday’s 5-0 defeat against the Guardians).
Arizona’s victory on Saturday night came largely due to a seventh-innings blitz which saw seven runs scored and featured homers from Geraldo Perdomo and Corbin Carroll. A five-run response from Cleveland in the eighth innings was not enough for the hosts, who dropped below 0.500 in the standings for the first time since early May.
High scoring matches like this are always good news for buyers on our Cross-Runs spread which was 17.5-20.5 before play began in Ohio. With a 12-8 road win for Arizona, the spread settled at 96, with buyers winning 75.5x their stake.
