There were plenty of thrills and spills over the weekend and we have reviewed the last few days’ online betting action to pick out three big winning spread bets

FALKIRK v RANGERS – SHIRTS x BOOKINGS (SETTLED AT 14910)

There were plenty of twists and turns in the Scottish title race over the weekend, but ultimately, all three of the leading pack came away with three points to leave it as you were heading into the split.

On Saturday, Celtic laboured to a 1-0 win against St Mirren at Parkhead, whilst Hearts scored two late goals to beat Motherwell 3-1 at Tynecastle having trailed to an Emmanuel Longelo strike early in the second half. On Sunday, it was Rangers’ turn for some drama as the Ibrox side came from 2-0 down to beat Falkirk 6-3 in a thrilling match for the neutral fan (if there is such a thing in this year’s title race).

With nine goals scored and plenty of cards dished out at the Falkirk Stadium, it was a good day for buyers on most spreads. However, none won more than buyers at 1950-2200 on our Shirts x Bookings spread. Goals from Tochi Chukwuani and Nico Raskin, both wearing shirts numbered in the 40s, as well as a double from Gers’ 28 Bojan Miovski, helped Shirts settle at 213. GRAND NATIONAL – SP LENGTHS (SETTLED AT 11.25)

One of the great sporting events of the year took place on Saturday as the latest renewal of the Grand National saw I Am Maximus defend his crown at Aintree. The JP McManus runner was well supported before the off and justified his favouritism to win by 2.5 lengths from Iroko, who stayed on strongly to finish second.

A winning favourite with a late market plunge was great news for sellers on our special Grand National SP Lengths market. This market multiplies the SP of the winner by the number of lengths won by and the last available price to trade was 104-112.

With late support for I Am Maximus seeing him sent off at 9/2 and a 2½ win, the spread settled at 11.25 as sellers won 92.75x their stake. It is worth mentioning that in this market 9/2 equated to 4.5 rather than the decimal price of 5.5, so 7/2 would be 3.5 and 2/1 would be 2 and so on.

KENT v NORTHANTS – NOR/KEN 1^ST INNINGS SUPREMACY (SETTLED AT 516)

The IPL will no doubt be drawing most of the attention for cricket fans, with Rajasthan Royals topping the table after a perfect start of four wins from four matches. However, the antithesis of the IPL got underway recently and there was plenty of intrigue in the weekend’s County Championship matches.

Down in Canterbury, Northants won the toss and chose to bat, a decision that proved successful as they declared on 684-2. Ricardo Vasconcelos, Luke Procter (unbeaten on 261), Calvin Harrison, and Aussie recruit Nathan McSweeney all helped themselves to centuries as the visitors made it look easy.

Making it look a lot less easy were Zak Crawley and the rest of the Kent side, who could only muster a first innings response of 178 all out. With the First Innings Supremacy market set at -5 – 15 before play began, a first innings lead of 516 saw buyers claim a win of 499x their stake.
