Daily Spread Betting Round-up
With another big sporting weekend in the books, we review the online betting action from the last three days, with three big winning spread bets.
Super League returned at the weekend, and it was a memorable few days as York and Toulouse both showed that the newly promoted sides were going to be no pushovers this season.
York’s home win against Hull Kingston Rovers on Thursday night was the shock of the round, but Toulouse – back at this level for the first time since 2022 – also ripped up the form book. A brace from former Widnes man Olly Ashall-Bott helped the French side on their way to victory as they triumphed 18-16 over Wakefield in front of a sold-out Belle Vue.
Before the match, Trinity were strong favourites, so it was little surprise to see the Winning Margin x Total Points spread available to trade at a fairly large 1170-1324. However, with a winning margin of two and 34 points scored, the market settled at 68, with sellers winning a whopping 1102x their stake.
West Ham reached the fifth round of the FA Cup at the weekend, but they made hard work of League One opponents Burton Albion on Saturday lunchtime.
After 90 minutes, the scoreline was 0-0, before the game sparked into life during extra-time. First, Crysencio Summerville drove in off the left wing, and his deflected strike looped past Bradley Collins. Then, just as you thought West Ham would be able to see it out, Freddie Potts saw red for a reckless challenge on Julian Larsson to set up a grandstand finish.
However, Burton were unable to force an equaliser, with the Hammers making it through to the last-16. With most of the action happening in extra time, the first 90 minutes were largely forgettable and there was some big winning spread bets for sellers.
One such market was the Total Card Minutes spread, which was 193-223 before kick-off. As this is a 90 minute only market and with no cards awarded in normal time, the market settled at zero with sellers winning 193x their stake.
Back to Friday now, where there was a huge shock at the T20 World Cup as Zimbabwe overcame Australia in Colombo. The Aussies won the toss and opted to put Zimbabwe into bat, with The Chevrons setting a target of 170 following a late flourish from captain Sikander Raza.
In reply, Australia looking to have recovered from 29-4, but career best figures of 4-17 from Blessing Muzarabani helped the Zimbabweans to a famous victory. Before play began in the Sri Lankan capital, Australia were 50-58 favourites on our Supremacy spread, but a 23-run win for the underdogs saw the market settle at -23 as sellers won 73x their stake.
