Daily Spread Betting Round-up
With the international break over, football took centre stage from an online betting point of view whilst there was also a top-quality card at Ascot. We run through the big winning bets from the weekend below.
Most Scottish teams have a poor record against Celtic, but Dundee’s is worse than most, and until Sunday, they hadn’t beaten the Bhoys since 1988.
Clark Robertson’s first-ever Premiership goal got the Dens Park side off to a good start, and they doubled their lead on the stroke of half time when Cameron Congreve’s cross deflected in off Cameron Carter Vickers.
Some stout defending from Steven Pressley’s side saw off the Celtic threat in the second stanza and Dundee held on for just their second win of the league campaign. Naturally, Celtic were big favourites for this clash and were 2.1-2.3 favourites on our Supremacy football spread betting market.
With the spread settling at -2, sellers won 4.1x their stake, a big win on a low volatility spread.
Champions Day at Ascot can often throw up some unusual results and Saturday saw two triple-figure price winners go in with Powerful Glory winning the Sprint Stakes at 200/1.
Later on the card, it was the turn of Cicero’s Gift, with Charlie Hill’s five-year-old holding off The Lion In Winter to land the spoils in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes. Sent off at 100/1 on the fixed odds market, the horse had a spread of 0.5-2 in our 50-25-10 Race Index spread.
A 1¼ length success for Cicero’s Gift rewarded buyers on our Race Index spread with a win of 48x their stake.
Bournemouth had scored injury time goals in back-to-back matches against Leeds and Fulham ahead of their Saturday clash with Crystal Palace, however, it was to be the Londoners who would strike late at the weekend.
A 97th minute penalty from Jean-Philippe Mateta made sure of the French striker’s hat-trick and secured a valuable point for the Eagles. Eli Kroupi had put Bournemouth 2-0 up, but two goals in five minutes from Mateta levelled the game. Ryan Christie then thought he had won the game in the 89th minute, but he hadn’t reckoned on Mateta’s late penalty.
So many goals was always likely to be good news for buyers on Shirts x Bookings at 1875-2075 and so it proved at Selhurst Park. With Booking Points settling at 50 and Shirts settling at 96, this spread settled at 4800.
That left buyers pocketing a huge win of 2725x their stake! Please remember that this is a very high volatility spread betting market, so adjust your stakes accordingly when trading.
