MANCHESTER CITY V CHELSEA BETTING FORM

Manchester City haven’t lost against Chelsea at the Etihad since 2021. Going into their first home game of 2026, the Citizens will be hoping to keep their run going as they continue to chase down Arsenal in 1st place. A lacklustre draw at Sunderland on Thursday leaves them four points adrift of the top spot, so a win feels essential this weekend.

MANCHESTER CITY LEAGUE FORM

DRAW: Sunderland 0-0 Man City, 1st January 2026
WIN: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Man City, 27th December 2025
WIN: Man City 3-0 West Ham, 20th December 2025

Chelsea come into the new year a changed side, with manager Enzo Maresca parting ways with the club on New Year’s Day. This came after a disappointing festive period where the Blues picked up only 2 points from a possible 9, with their most recent result being a 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth. Chelsea are attempting to be the first team to take any points at the Etihad in the league since Tottenham beat City in August. Can they bounce back under new management?

LOSS: Chelsea 2-1 Aston Villa, 27th December 2025
DRAW: Newcastle 2-2 Chelsea, 20th December 2025

MANCHESTER CITY V CHELSEA FOOTBALL SPREAD BETTING PRICES

Our football spread betting prices have the Goal Supremacy as Man City/ Chelsea at 0.85-1.05 This means a ‘buy’ bet at 1.05 would need Manchester City to win by two goals to start turning a profit (e.g. a two-goal win would win 0.95× your stake, a three-goal win 1.95× your stake, a four-goal win 2.95× your stake, etc.).

A 0.85 ‘sell’ bet would need either a draw, or Chelsea to win to turn a profit (e.g. a draw would win 0.15× your stake, and a Chelsea win by one goal would win 1.15× your stake, etc.).

Our spread betting Total Goals line is 3.3–3.5. This means a 3.5 ‘buy’ bet would need at least four goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a 3.3 ‘sell’ bet would need three goals or fewer to be scored in the match to turn a profit.

In the past 5 matches at the Etihad in the league between these two sides, there has only been 2 matches which have seen 3 or more goals scored.

Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. For example, a 3.5 ‘buy’ Total Goals bet would lose 3.5× your stake if the match ended 0–0. In the 1.05 ‘buy’ Supremacy bet example above, if the game ended in a draw, the bet would lose 1.05× your stake. If Chelsea won by one goal, then it would lose 2.05× your stake, etc. And in the 0.85  ‘sell’ Supremacy example above, the bet would lose 0.15× your stake on a 1–0 Manchester City win, 1.15× your stake on a 2–0 Manchester City win, etc.
