Sheffield United v Birmingham City Betting Form?

Two sides who will expect to be in the promotion mix come the end of the season meet at Bramall Lane as Sheffield United host Birmingham City.

The Blades had a poor season on their return to the second tier last season with an abysmal start ending their promotion hopes before they had begun. With Chris Wilder back in the dugout, things improved and the Blades are 15/8 to make the top six.

However, they could do with some reinforcements, with Andre Brooks and Gus Hamer both departing. Kalvin Phillips, who spent the second half of last season at Bramall Lane, has joined again on loan from Manchester City and could make the squad for the weekend. Harry Souttar is a player the Blades like, but any transfer for the Leicester man won’t be completed in time.

Birmingham’s away form hamstrung their top six bid last season, but they did manage to record a rare away success when beating Swansea on the road in the League Cup first round on Saturday. In terms of incomings, Dael Fry joins on a free transfer having played 263 Championship games for hometown club Middlesbrough and England Under-21 international James Beadle has re-signed for another season on loan in the Midlands. New centre forward Luis Vaquez impressed in his cameo against Swansea at the weekend.
