Spain v Belgium Betting Form

Spain Recent Form

The reigning Euro champions have been flying somewhat under the radar compared to teams like France and England, but have actually been one of the most efficiently formidable teams in the tournament, if not spectacular. After a shock 0-0 draw with Cape Verde in their group opener, La Furia Roja have won the next four matches, including a last-gasp 1-0 win over Portugal last time out.

Defensive solidity has been the backbone of success, with Spain yet to concede in the tournament and setting a new all-time record of six consecutive clean sheets at World Cup finals. Strength at the back is complemented by young phenom Lamine Yamal in the attack, and it may take something special to stop the Spanish charge.

Belgium Recent Form

Rudi Garcia's side were on the verge of crashing out of the tournament with a whimper against Senegal in the round of 32 as they were 2-0 down with mere minutes remaining, but an incredible comeback in the dying embers led them to extra-time, with a last-gasp penalty sending them through. They then dominated co-hosts USA 4-1 in the round of 16, and confidence will be at a high here.

The Red Devils are now on an unbeaten run of 18 matches, and have averaged almost three goals per game over that period. Maintaining that attacking threat will prove crucial to be in with a chance of defeating the Spaniards here.

If you thought there would be 4 goals or more in the match you would make a ‘buy’ bet. If the match finished 4-1 then a ‘buy’ bet would return a profit of 2x your stake. Another available spread betting market is 1st Match Goal; the spread is 34 – 37. If you thought the 1st Goal would come before the 37th minute you would make a ‘sell’ bet. If the 1st Goal came in the 27th minute, then a ‘sell’ bet would return 10x your stake.

However, if the 1st Goal came after the 34th minute then a ‘sell’ bet would return a loss. E.g. a 1st Goal in the 42nd minute would return a loss of 8x your stake. A ‘sell’ bet would also return a loss if no goal was scored.
