A final-round 3-over 73 wasn't enough to derail Wyndham Clark, who edged Sam Burns by one at Shinnecock Hills to claim the 2026 US Open.
The US Open is golfs third major tournament of the calendar year and usually takes place in mid-June. The US Open is open to both professional and amateur players who get through qualifying.
The US Open is played at different venues and is historically a tournament which requires accuracy off the tee and is tough to score on. Both Rory McIlroy (2011) and Brooks Koepka (2017) share the record of lowest US Open winning scores at 16 under par.
