Although Wolves appear destined for Championship football next season with just 10 points on the board, they have shown real resilience in recent weeks, earning a home draw against league leaders Arsenal and picking up a valuable point away at Nottingham Forest.
In their last outing, they had a golden opportunity to double their win tally for the season at Crystal Palace, but a missed penalty and a red card dramatically shifted the momentum, leading to a heartbreaking defeat in the dying moments.
While there may be little left for Wolves to play for in terms of survival, they will be highly motivated for Friday’s clash as they host local rivals Aston Villa, aiming to dent Villa’s push for Champions League qualification.

Aston Villa have been one of the Premier League’s standout overachievers this season, enjoying a superb first half of the campaign that even sparked talk of an unlikely title challenge.
However, injuries to several key players in recent weeks have disrupted their momentum, leading to a slight dip in form. Despite this, Villa remain firmly positioned in the Champions League qualification places.
On Friday night, they make the short trip to Molineux to take on local rivals Wolves, aiming to heap further misery on the hosts and strengthen their push for a top-four finish.

Aston Villa are the favourites heading into this game and are priced at 10/11 to get all three points on Spreadex’s fixed odds market (17/20 on our 2 Up early payout Match Odds market) whilst hosts Wolves are priced at 3/1 to get the win (11/4 on our 2 Up early payout Match Odds market) and the draw priced at 13/5.
In the reverse fixture Aston Villa ran out 1-0 winners through a 67th minute Boubacar Kamara strike. A repeat of that result is priced at 13/2 this time round with Spreadex. Alternatively you can get Aston Villa To Win To Nil priced at 11/5.
Our football spread betting prices have Aston Villa as the favourites with a Goal Supremacy quote of Aston Villa/Wolves (h) 0.5 – 0.7. This means a 'buy' bet at 0.7 would need a Aston Villa win to start turning a profit (e.g. one goal win would win 0.3x your stake, two goal win would win 1.3x your stake etc.).
A 0.5 'sell' bet would need a draw or Wolves win to turn a profit (e.g. draw would win 0.5x your stake, a Wolves one goal win would win 1.5x your stake etc.).
Our spread betting Total Goals line is 2.6 – 2.8. So a 2.8 'buy' bet would need at least three goals to be scored in the match to start turning a profit. Conversely, a ‘2.6’ sell bet would need two goals or less to be scored in the match to turn a profit.
Remember that with spread betting, get the bet wrong and losses can exceed your stake/deposit. E.g. a 2.8 'buy' Total Goals bet would lose 2.8x your stake if the match ended 0-0. In the 0.7 'buy' Supremacy bet example above, if the game ended in a draw you would lose 0.7x your stake, if the game ended in a Wolves one goal win then it would lose 1.7x your stake etc. And in the 0.5 'sell' Supremacy example above, the bet would lose 0.5x your stake on a one goal Aston Villa win and 1.5x your stake on a two goal Aston Villa win etc.
