Spread Bets of the Day 22.07.19

The rest of the World Matchplay 1st round, a big American League clash and Barcelona’s first pre-season friendly against Chelsea all feature in the Spread Bets of the Day.

1. Peter Wright vs Vincent van der Voort – Peter Right Outright Index, 17-20
Able to avoid Michael van Gerwen and defending champion Gary Anderson until the final, 2017 runner-up Peter Wright could be in for a decent run in this year’s World Matchplay.

The Scot heads into his opener against Vincent van der Voort at a 10-3 Supremacy spread of 13-16, and an Ouright Index spread of 17-20.


2. Daryl Gurney vs Ricky Evans – Name the Finalists van Gerwen & Gurney, 13-16
The 2nd best-ranked player in the easier side of the draw, PDC Order of Merit world no. 4 and World Matchplay 3rd seed Daryl Gurney will be hoping to go all the way this month, starting with a victory over Ricky Evans.

If you fancy his chances, and think 1st seed Mighty Mike is a lock for the final, then you could plump for a Name the Finalists van Gerwen & Gurney binary spread of 13-16.


3. NY Yankees @ Minnesota – Yankees Mini, 41-45
Two of the best sides in the American League come face-to-face on Monday night, as the Minnesota Twins host the New York Yankees in the 1st of a 3 game series. The Yankees have the better record, if only just, at 64-34 to the Twins’ 60-68.

That maybe gives the New Yorkers the edge, with Spreadex offering a Yankees Mini spread of 41-45, where each run scored is worth 5 points, with a bonus 25 points for a win.


4. Barcelona vs Chelsea – Chelsea to win match, 33.3-40
Though pre-season friendlies should be taken with a pinch of salt, Frank Lampard’s first few weeks as Chelsea manager haven’t been the best. A drawn against Ireland’s Bohemians was followed by a predictable 4-0 win over St Patrick’s. However they lost their 1st game in Japan 1-0 to Kawasaki Frontale, a defeat that’s real cost was an injury to N’Golo Kante.

As for Barcelona, this’ll be their first 2019/20 friendly, meaning it could be Antoine Griezmann’s debut. Still, the Blues are a bit more warmed up ahead of Tuesday morning, and sit at a win match binary spread of 33.3-40.


5. Odense BK vs Lyngby, streaming live on Spreadex – Frederik Gytjaer SMM, 19-23
One game in and Lyngby are unbeaten, picking up a 2-0 win over AaB Aalborg thanks to a brace from Frederik Gytkjaer. That leaves the 26-year old at a SMM spread of 19-23, despite his last SMM make-up coming in at 131.
