Will Chelsea hand Liverpool the league on Thursday?

Will Chelsea gift Liverpool the title by causing Man City to drop points? And can Arsenal get their first post-restart win? It’s the Spread Bets of the Day!

1. Chelsea v Man City – Tammy Abraham SMM, 19-23
Chelsea could make up for the time they cost Liverpool the title – in the game that featured Gerard’s infamous slip – and hand the Reds their first ever Premier League championship by denying Man City all 3 points, at 8.15pm on BT Sport 1.

City, who really have nothing left to play for in the league beyond pride and the wish to deny Liverpool’s coronation for as long as they can, have been on fire since returning. They beat an inept Arsenal 3-0, before hammering Burnley 5-0 on Monday.

As for Chelsea, they will be eying 3rd play after Leicester’s recent slip-ups, and can move within 1 point of the Foxes with a win over City.

An interesting side plot at Stamford Bridge is the fate of Tammy Abraham. The youngster is Chelsea’s top scorer, on 13 goals in the league and 15 in total, but with an injury side-lining him since January, and Timo Werner incoming, he may feel the pressure to deliver this Thursday.

Spreadex has Abraham at a SMM spread of 19-23. In comparison, Riyad Mahrez is on 20-24, Kevin De Bruyne is on 24-29, Raheem Sterling sits at 28-34, with Gabriel Jesus – in for the inured Aguero – at 38-44.

2. Southampton v Arsenal – Southampton/Arsenal Goal Supremacy, -0.1-0.1
Mikel Arteta must be sweating, and not just because of the heatwave. A loss at Man City wasn’t necessarily a surprise, but the manner in which it happened was still embarrassing.

Even more so was Arsenal’s late defeat at Brighton, in a match that saw the Gunners concede deep into injury time AND lose goalie Bernd Leno for potentially up to a year.

A win at Southampton – at 6pm on Sky Sports Football – then is a must, especially if Arsenal want to stand a hope in hell of nabbing a spot in Europe next season.

For the Saints themselves, they had an easy return, beating Norwich 3-0. They’ll fancy their chances on Thursday as well.

3. Burnley v Watford – Total Goal Minutes, 112-122
After Wednesday’s results went their way, can Watford take a significant step away from the relegation zone with a win at Burnley, at 6pm on Sky One and free-to-air on Sky Pick?

It’s probably the best time to take on the Clarets. They were at the rough end of a 5-0 thumping at Man City, and may be at a low ebb heading into Thursday’s fixture.

As for the Hornets, a solid – if exceedingly late – draw against Leicester was a decent enough restart, even if it means they have just one win in their last 8 Premier League games. Admittedly, that win was over Liverpool, but still.

Following Watford’s late strike against the Foxes, and the fact Burnley scored twice in the final 8 minutes when these sides met in November, it might be worth watching a Total Goal Minutes spread of 112-122.
