Football

Liverpool’s nervy midweek win over Sunderland ensured the Premier League title challenge remains a three horse race with Man City now the 5/6 favourites, Chelsea 5/2 and Liverpool 3/1.

For Saturday’s 5.30pm game, Man City journey to out-of-sorts Arsenal who are now a distant 100/1 to be champions. City are even money to pile the misery on Arsene Wenger, Arsenal are 13/5 and the draw 5/2.

Chelsea are strong favourites at Palace 1.25 – 1.45 on the Supremacy for their 3pm Saturday trip to Selhurst Park, while Liverpool face Tottenham at 4pm on Sunday with the Supremacy price Liverpool/Tottenham 1.25 – 1.45.

The weekend kicks-off with under-fire David Moyes hoping to improve his wretched record at Old Trafford as Aston Villa make the trip north. United are 2/5, Villa 7/1 and the draw 7/2.

Palace v Chelsea aside, the rest of the Supremacy prices for the 3pm kick-offs are; Stoke/Hull 0.25 – 0.45, Southampton/Newcastle 0.75 – 0.95, Swansea/Norwich 0.75 – 0.95 and West Brom/Cardiff 0.6 – 0.8.

Sunday’s early game sees top-4-chasing Everton play away at rock-bottom Fulham. The Toffees are 8/11 for the win, Fulham 15/4 and the draw 13/5.

Monday night’s game sees Sunderland desperately seeking points as they host a West Ham side closing in on safety. Sunderland are 6/5, West Ham 12/5 and the draw 11/5.

England lost to New Zealand by the Duckworth-Lewis method in their opening World T20 encounter last weekend as Stuart Broad was struck with a fine for his lightning comments.

So can Broad and co respond with victory against Sri Lanka today (Thursday), who themselves cantered to a nine-wicket victory over the Netherlands on Monday?

Our traders don’t fancy England’s chances and we have them as outsiders at 6/4 and Sri Lanka as 8/15 favourites.

Rugby

The first ever EurAsia Cup is the highlight of the golfing world this week as some big names of the game congregate in Kuala Lumpur for the event.

The team matchplay event, which pits Europe against Asia, has been welcomed by the likes of Graeme McDowell, who have spoken of how the tournament should help Europe’s preparations for the Ryder Cup later in the year.

McDowell himself is our traders’ favourite to end as Top European Scorer with a spread of 14-17 based on an index of 50 points to top European points scorer, 30 to second, 20 to third and 10 to fourth.

Tennis 

Our vastly expanded tennis service, which will see provide in-play betting on around 10,000 matches throughout 2014, this week takes in the ATP and WTA Miami.

Andy Murray’s struggles this season continued last night as he was dumped out of the quarter-finals by Novak Djokovic, meaning the Scot is now ranked as low as eighth in the world.

It means Djokovic will next face Kei Nishikori, who disposed of Roger Federer.

Murray will be left to focus on Great Britain’s Davis Cup tie with Italy next month. We have Italy 1/2 for the win with GB 6/4.

Motor Racing

Race two of the F1 season goes to Malaysia as the drivers continue to get to grips with the new rules and regulations – and the fans get used to less noise from the engines.

Lewis Hamilton and Sebastien Vettel both failed to finish in Melbourne, retiring early due to mechanical failures. However Hamilton is the 13/8 favourite and Vettel third favourite at 10/1.

Nico Rosberg, who won the Australian GP last week, is 9/4, Felipe Massa and Valtteri Bottas both 12/1 and Kevin Magnussen, Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso all 14/1.

Phil Taylor, who has had a difficult time of things so far in the Premier League of Darts, was last week’s big winner in front of 11,000 fans at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.

He’ll be hoping to build on his 7-1 win over Wes Newton that night as the competition moves into Week 8 in Dublin.

60,000 tickets have been sold and the hype is already building for Froch v Groves 2 at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, May 31st.

Froch was the controversial winner in round nine first time around after surviving an onslaught from Groves in the early rounds and with many observers feeling Groves should have been given more time to continue.

The Scottish Independence Referendum takes place on September 18th and our traders reckon it’s going to end as a ‘No’ vote.
