Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew heads to the major meetings at Sandown and York for his two recommended bets/trades on Friday, June 14th.
LIL GUFF’s recent form figures are uninspiring, and she trailed home last of 11 when 7-2 for a 5f handicap at Windsor last month, her fourth unplaced effort from four runs this term. However, the return to Sandown looks likely to spark a revival as her two previous runs here have produced a win in this race last year off a 6lb higher mark and a short-head second in a field of 14. Bang in-form Oisin Murphy takes the ride and, with luck in running, she’s going to be hard to beat. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back LIL GUFF in Sandown 2.05
AL SIMMO is wonderfully consistent when racing in fillies’ handicap company, recording form figures of 1112131126226 (6-13) for a profit of £23.25 to a £1 level stake at SP. All the wins came in Class 3 or lower company, which tempers confidence slightly in this Class 2 contest, but Steph Hollinshead’s seven-year-old only went down by a short head in this race on her reappearance last year and was also third in the 2022 renewal. The absence since September is no great concern given her good record when fresh and she can be backed each-way in the Spreadex fixed odds betting or bought in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market.
Recommendation: Back AL SIMMO in York 3.00
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
