Andrew Mount's Racing Tips
Andrew bids to start Royal Ascot week with a bang with two recommended bets/trades at Windsor on Monday, June 17th.
KING’S VANITY trailed home 17th of 21 when a 40-1 shot for the Victoria Cup at Ascot when we last saw him, but he had very little chance from the worst of the draw in stall 1 (non-runner adjusted). Andrew Balding’s four-year-old also had a terrible draw (stall 11 of 11) when beating only one home in a 1m handicap at Kempton on his penultimate start and tonight’s drop to 6f for the first time in his career could bring about improvement from this sometimes-keen sort. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back KING’S VANITY in Windsor 7.00
The Clive Cox-trained SKY WARRIOR wouldn’t look an obvious bet in this Class 3 handicap having been beaten twice in Class 4 company since switched to handicaps, latterly when a 21-length seventh of eight at Doncaster. However, both his handicap runs came over 7f and the return to this 6f trip will suit. The three-year-old colt has run well in both previous runs over this trip on turf, finishing a 16-1 fourth of 11 at tonight’s venue on his racecourse debut when showing obvious signs of greenness before landing his maiden on good ground at Doncaster. His trainer does well in Class 2-4 handicaps with three-year-olds who finished sixth or worse on their latest start, scoring with 48 of the 312 qualifiers (15.4%) for a huge profit of £169.95 to a £1 level stake at SP (+54.5% on turnover). Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back SKY WARRIOR in Windsor 7.30
Please note that these are examples of winning bets from the past week, and it is important to remember that spread betting carries a high level of risk to your capital and can result in losses larger than your initial stake/deposit.
