The Fergie years were something else. That is, perhaps, the best way to explain how Manchester United sit comfortably atop the all-time Premier League home table. However, a decline in recent years and a resurgence from Arsenal could see the Red Devils deposed from the top sooner rather than later. So, which teams have amassed the finest home records over the years in the Premier League? The Spreadex team have crunched the numbers – take a look at the answers below.
1. Manchester United – win percentage 68.5%, 2.24 average points per game (APPG)For the first 2 decades of the Premier League’s existence, there was no more intimidating, rightfully feared ground than Old Trafford. However, the Theatre of Dreams has been a much more fruitful destination for rivals in recent years, with United still struggling to properly find their feet post-Sir Alex Ferguson. They may see themselves overtaken if they can't reverse their fortunes over the coming years.2. Arsenal – 65%, 2.17 APPGThe reigning champions sit second in our list. Arsenal's recent resurgence under Mikel Arteta has seen the Emirates return to the fortress it was during Arsene Wenger's peak.
Impressively, the Gunners have put together some top home performances across two grounds, with a strong record at both the Emirates and their former home at Highbury.3. Liverpool – 63.5%, 2.14 APPGFew grounds have an atmosphere quite like Anfield. Liverpool fans have helped carry their team to two league titles and the third-best home record in Premier League history.
Their best years came under Jurgen Klopp, which saw the Reds go unbeaten at home for three consecutive seasons, including their title winning run in 2019/20 where they dropped just two points all year at Anfield.4. Manchester City – 60.8%, 2.02 APPGMan City are almost the inverse of United. Focus on the last few seasons and blue side of Manchester would likely be higher, maybe even no .1. Since being taken over by Sheikh Mansour in 2008, City have gone from strength to strength, peaking under Pep Guardiola just a couple of years ago. But will they be able to keep moving up the list with Guardiola now gone?5. Chelsea – 59.8%, 2.05 APPGAnother team whose fortunes changed following some major financial investment, Chelsea come in at number five. The Blues also hold the record for the longest home unbeaten streak, racking up an incredible 86-game run during the 2000s. 6. Tottenham – 52.8%, 1.80 APPGThe last of the so-called "Big Six", Tottenham have managed a 52.8% win rate across White Hart Lane and the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (and Wembley very briefly in between).Despite a hot start to life at their new ground, Spurs' home form in recent years has left a lot to be desired.7. Newcastle United – 50.1%, 1.74 APPGSt James' is unquestionably one of the Premier League's most iconic grounds, and Newcastle have ridden the wave of their home fans to a 50.1% win rate.
The last team on the list with a win rate over .500, the Magpies will be hoping to move up following investment from Saudi Arabia in 2021.8. BLACKBURN ROVERS – 48.6%, 1.70 APPGBlackburn haven't played in the top division since 2011/12, but they were Premier League heavyweights back in the very early days following the rebrand.
Their form at Ewood Park helped them win the league title in 1994/95. Will we see Blackburn back in the Premier League again soon?9. LEEDS UNITED – 46.5%, 1.66 APPGAnother Stalwart of the Premier League's earlier years, Leeds have struggled to stay in the top tier since the turn of the century.
However, things are looking up at Elland Road, with the Lilywhites averaging over 1.7 ppg since returning to the Premier League in 2025/26.10. Everton – 44.8%, 1.61 APPGOne of the 6 sides to appear in every season of the Premier League, Everton earn 10th place with a win percentage of just under 45%.Despite some relegation scares in recent years, the Toffees were a formidable side at Goodison Park, and life at the Hill Dickinson Stadium has been good to them so far.
