Top 10 Premier League Teams by Penalties Scored

Scoring, or missing, penalties can be the difference between a league title and a season of heartbreak. And since the introduction of VAR in 2019/20, Premier League penalties have become an even more controversial topic of conversation, with every spot kick awarded coming under scrutiny. Here at Spreadex, we've crunched the numbers to look at which teams have had the most success from the spot in Premier League history.

Specifically, which teams have scored the most penalties, and who are the top spot-kick takers from each of those clubs?

1. CHELSEA – 163 SCORED

The Blues have scored more penalties than any other side in the Premier League, thanks in large part to Frank Lampard, who has scored more time from the spot than any player in the league's history.

3. Eden Hazard – 14 scored
4. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink – 12 scored
5. Frank Leboeuf – 10 scored

2. LIVERPOOL – 156 PENALTIES SCORED

Liverpool come in at 156 penalties scored, with contributions from Lampard's former England colleague Steven Gerrard, and all-time leader Mo Salah. The Egyptian King amassed 35 penalties before leaving in 2026.

Of course United were going to be near the top – it’s maybe even a surprise that they aren’t no. 1. Current captain Bruno Fernandes leads the way on 28, and will surely add to his tally over the coming years.
