How can I watch Ecuador v Germany?BBC One.
Tonight is do or die for an Ecuador side touted as dark horses for the 2026 World Cup. The South Americans finished second in qualifying behind Argentina and boast a defence containing Champions League finalists Piero Hincapie and Willian Pancho. However, it is at the other end of the pitch where there have been issues, with the Ecuadorians goalless after their two matches so far. Former West Ham striker Enner Valencia is the only player in the squad to have scored more than eight goals in the national shirt and that might not be enough to breach the Germans.
The good news for Ecuador is that Germany have already qualified for the knockout rounds as group winners and so may make changes with an eye on the next round. Destructive in a 7-1 victory over Curacao in their opening match, they were much less convincing against Ivory Coast and Ecuador are certainly not without a chance here. Second spot is still a potential for La Tri, but they would need to beat Germany and Curacao to beat Ivory Coast. The fact that the double pays just over 67/1 indicates how likely that scenario is.

In the match odds market, it is little surprise to see Germany installed as favourite ahead of this one, with Die Mannschaft priced at 1/2 and 40/85 with our 2 Up concession. A draw, which would be useless for Ecuador, is 4/1 and they are 17/4 to get the win.
Tonight’s match will certainly have an interesting dynamic to it. Ecuador pride themselves on their defensive capabilities, but they will need to open up at some point and it is hard to work out exactly how Germany will play. The market still fancies there to be goals in this one with over 2.5 goals priced at 4/6 and over 3.5 goals at 8/5. Ecuador are 4/7 to find the back of the net and score their first goal of the tournament.

Goals off the bench in his last two matches may well be enough to earn Deniz Undav a start this evening in New Jersey. His cameo at the weekend produced two late goals as Germany snuck past Ivory Coast and the Stuttgart hitman will be hoping to extend his record this evening. His Player Goal Minutes spread can be traded at 31-34, with his Super Mega Minutes spread at 50-58. In this market, the minute the first goal is scored in by the player counts as normal, the second goal minute counts double and if they get a hat-trick, the minute is trebled.
For example, if Undav scored in the 20th, 40th, and 60th minute, the market would make up at 280 (20+80+180). Like Player Goal Minutes, if he failed to score, the spread settles at zero.
Finally, one other market to look at is the 1st Ecuador Goal Minute at 59-62. As mentioned, they are goalless in the tournament so far and if that remains the case tonight, the spread would settle at 90. Sell if you think the South Americans are going to open Germany up before the 59th minute.
