The Summer Olympic Games, commonly known as the Summer Olympics, is the world’s largest international sporting event. Held every four years, it brings together thousands of athletes from countries around the globe to compete in a wide range of sports, from athletics and swimming to gymnastics and football.
The Olympics promote values such as excellence, friendship, and respect while celebrating cultural unity and international cooperation. Since the first modern Games were held in Athens in 1896, the Summer Olympics have grown into a global tradition watched by millions of people worldwide.
The next Summer Olympics is still two years away, with the event due to take place from July 14th to July 30th, 2028.
The 2028 Summer Olympics will be hosted in the city of Los Angeles, California, USA. The upcoming event will be the 31st Summer Olympics and will be the fifth time that a US city will host the Games - and the first time since 1996 in Atlanta. However, this will be the third time the Games are held in L.A, with the two previous occasions being in 1932 and 1984.
